hi everybody, i have searched in the web and i can said that the corolla Tsport produced from UK has more HP than the Celica GT-S in USA?
and it is the same motor (1.8 VVTL-i), and year (2002).
why was that?
another question...
how about a Twin Turbo Zet?? it really works???

The US has stricted emissions regulations, so the USDM versions are slightly "tuned down" to meet them. That's why the JDM and European Celica GT-S' have 190HP and we have 180HP here...

The european T sport Celica has 192 hp. They can do that because in Europe the gas is always 95 or 98 octane..
If you put in lower then 95 octane gas you will blow the T sport engine.

I'm on here a lot - although the posts don't show it - and this topic comes up regularly. My 2 cents - I have read that the US measures hp using a different "scale" set by SAE standards. So outside the slight advantage of higher octane - its the same power - just represented differently....similar to MPH vs KM.

Yeah, but the fact that Europe does not have the strict emissions and has the high octane gas makes for the higher horsepower number on the T Sport.
