well the dmv suspended my license for 6 mnths due to a street racing incident that happened in july 02 so now my dad says i should sell my car as is or part it out then sell it and save the 200+ im paying monthly for car payments and save the money i get for selling the car till may and in may i have the option of buying a new car... my limit will be around 30k or so i think ... so what should i do?

get a beater because your obviously not responsible enough to drive a car with any pep.... street racing? = stupidity. just my opinion

while i agree w/ law that street racing is kinda irresposible, we all do speed in here. I don't think there is any1 on this board that got the car JUST to take it to the track or autocross every weekend.

to every1 that says "streetracing is dumb, stupid, ignorent.....ect", i say think of ur own words when u go over speed limit. because in a way the difference between speeding and racing is that some1 is going against u. but ur still putting ur self in great danger for getting killed or hurt.

and that's MY opinion.

to answer ur Zero0ne GTS, i say keep ur car. you will lose alot more that $1200($200x6) if u sell or trade in ur car. keep it, pay it off(if ur financing it) and then sell it if ur not content w/ ur car.

yo Zero...think about this. if you do decide to get a PIMP car like 350 z...are you going to have enough money to mod it out? also your insurance is going to be really high and guess what..since you got jacked with street racing violation i suggest just wait till your 18 to clear out your record.

or 6 months of sacrifice and save up for some mods for your GTS. you never know how much you can save up...maybe enough to get some type of forced induction or more mods for N/A route.

Saying everyone speeds is a large assumption. I havn't been speeding for some time now (since July) and I am having no problem with it anymore. Who really buys their car to street race and speed??? honestly.... There are a couple on this board that i remember that did get a celica for strictly autox but oh well (it was a daily driver too but still)

No offense bud, but I think you should just stick to a lower, slower car...

If you got your driver's license suspended, I'd say it's for a good reason.

There's no way in hell my son will ever drive a sport compact when he's 18-19 years old unless he pays for it himself.

I'd like to see him live to at least 21...

coool....i could do the same thing! i can make that down payment..and only 350/month for car and insurance....that's a joke. WoW I guess i could be doing that too. Nice job! and the only reason we want you to sell ur car is because we're all canibals...we want your parts!!! lol

well funny thing is i get my license back may 19 i turn 18 june 19 so its a mnth apart... and also this is the ONLY violation i have so archangel saying i cant handle a faster car is just another assumption.... my record is clean besides the 2 points i got for speed contest other than that.. nothing... also who said my parents were gonna pay for it? again u guys are all assuming im a spoiled lil biatch... i work 30 hrs a week and am a senior in hs thats like almost all of my time but its worth it... im 17 and payed for the down on my celica and am paying for insurance and monthly on the car so b4 any of u guys try to say "wow ure spoiled" or anything else to that extent quit assuming ****.... im not trying to come off as a **** again like i said in my last post but u all act like every single kid who wants to buy an expensive car gets it from their parents.... i dont..

thx for ure opinion now ask me if i give a ****... streetracing sure u think its stoopid ask me if i feel the same way and ill tell u otherwise... not responsible? i think im pretty ****n responsible im 17 live alone with my bro and handle and pay for almost everything (cept for house) by myself u tell me ure ass did that when u were 17... did u work 30 hrs a week and go to a private catholic hs as a full time student averaging good ass grades... now tell me whose responsible... u cant judge someones responsibility online ass... now with taht said.. again thx for ure opinion but seriously i dont give a flying **** if u think streetracing=dumb cuz i think otherwise

i aint gonna hate.. last i heard the celica street racers are the ones who gave the celica a good name out there on the street and making them possible threats to other cars.. we all street race in some kind of manner.. even though it may not be organized ones.. but any kind of racing ont he street.. what do you call that? i know we're all guilty of it.. so take it easy on the guy..

wait and get an EVO man.. time for you to move up and stop racing n/a 15sec cars.. and i know you want to go back to diamond star and having boost.. good luck man..

damn...dont get all deffensive.you are only paying $150monthly for insurance right now...dont worry its gonna go up like $hit.then in a couple of years you will see how 18year old dumbmutha#@s ruin it for all the heads out there tryin to enjoy our hobby with out any heat.i got my license taken away by the dmv & by the court & wuz on probation for the same $hit.after 6 months of paying for and insuring a car you cant even drive...nobody with any sense will ever look at street racing the same way(cant even imagine people who lost loved ones)...so for people who agree in any way w/streetracing...you just dont know or you just dont give a f#@k about youself.n e wayz my badd for gettin sidetracked, you should keep your car...it may not be as fast as a z, but thats your dreams,& it sucks starting over plus you loose $$$

street racing.. i do it when i feel it is safe never stop light to stop light... never just for fun if i see something id like to run sure ill run it i dont go up and race every person i see.. do i enjoy it yes.. do i know its dangerous... yes... and i dunno but i think imma keep my car and build my engine up (titanium valves etc.. port and polish...etc) see how that works out.. i admit it was a mistake on my part to race at that point in time but i didnt ask on ure opinions for street racing i asked on ure opinions on what i should do with my car... wtfs with all the sidetracked comments.. if u dont have anything nice or constructive to say move on plenty of threads for u guys to whore on this site... thx to everyone who replied

that's what i was tring to say. we all street race in a way. 90% of us on this board like the performance aspect of the celi. i'm not saying that all of us got the car to speed or street race, but we do go over the speed limit from time to time. So i don't see the point where a member tells another member that street racing is dumb but then goes out and speeds over the posted limit. That does not make sence. i'm talking about all members in general.

Dude..don't throw me in with the rest of that junk..I just said that if you did something bad enough to get your LICENSE suspended, maybe you're weren't ready for the responsibility of OWNING a fast car. I never said your momma and daddy bought it for you either, because that IS an assumption that's used ALOT and is USUALLY wrong.

I never said you couldn't handle a fast car, I just said that if you're doing shiat that's getting your license suspended, maybe you should rethink what you're going after.

I've done some pretty stupid things, too, that have gotten myself tickets, but I've never done anything (or got caught) doing something that's resulted in a suspended license. You just gotta try and be smarter than that, man.

Look at it this way...you got your license suspended because you were racing in a fairly decent 180 horsepower FWD car.

What the hells gonna happen when you jump into a car with 250+ horses, and is RWD...

You can damn well bet you're gonna be doing the same things you did before with the Celica, except this time you'll be doing shiat a helluva lot faster.

I'm just saying this from an older person's perspective...not that old..but it sure as hell makes sense to me.

If I was your dad, and you were still living in my house, you sure as hell WOULDN'T be getting a 350z just after getting your license suspended. Even if you ARE paying for it with your own money. I'd be like hell no...you're getting a fuggin' Corolla.

Now since you say you're living in your own house with your bro, well then, hell man..do what you want to do. I sure as hell know your insurance is gonna go through the roof though if you get a 350z espescially after getting your license suspended.

That's ridiculous.
