I'm down with the newbody celicas and the old ones as well. Got the same engine (1ZZ-FE, but lamer).

I have a 2001 Corolla S... lots of little and typical mods. Just trying to break the "its just a corolla" mold.

I forgot to mention I have alot of mechanic skills (F/T Saab mechainic). I do alot of work on Toyotas too, mainly corollas but others as well. I was just given a 3TC engine and I plan on beefing it up, but it wont replace my 1zz, heh.

the new Saab turbos are nice but I still would never by one....you car looks pretty good so far just don't do anyhting ricey...

Yea the 9-5's are awesome, the new 03 9-3 is one of the best handling cars I've ever driven.

I'm trying my best to keep from ricing my corolla (I've seen alot of riced ones around NoVA.) I like the clean look.

If they can break the "it's an Accord" mold I think you can break the Corola mold as well. Give it some time. Let a few high school kids get some hand-me-down Corolas and let them mod it up. It'll catch on. ;)
