What does the hazard flashing mean, or what can it mean? What are some other makeshift forms of communication :D i.e. sounding horn, etc.
reason I ask is a while ago i blasted by this ricey ass civic... twice. But then I let off and cruised ... he came past, flashed his hazards, and then rode alongside goin from 2nd to third and back, all the time gassin it and bein a jackass. He finally pulled up front and then turned left onto a street. I had 3 girls with me and one of them was not wanting to race again :D The other two dug it, but said i didn't need to race 'em again.
So... what exactly do the hazards mean...

from what i have noticed, is it mean "i win"
alot of race videos i have seen, the car in front hits the hazards to show the people back at the starting line, that people is ahead.
 :)
sounds to me like a bad loser. Maybe he mishifted (twice haha) or something and wanted a rematch?
Bah, I just wave those guys off. I'm up for a legit run or two, but c'mon...

Yeah it signals that you won and the race is over. That riceboy just blasted by you and think that he won. Don't worry about it too much tho, they usually pull the "riceboy fly by" tactic. Which means they know you are done, but they speed by you anyways and hit the hazard. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

actually ive used my hazards alot.. for two different things.. one is to signal that you won the race and are done so they dont think when they all of a sudden pass u that there fast or something..
the other thing would be to antagonize a race.. pull in front of a car and put your hazards on, that would let them know you want to race :)

Well we had two runs... first he tried to do the fly by. I saw him coming, and dropped into 3rd ... then 2nd anticipating him. Went from 40-70 and he never did fly by the way he intended :)
Then we come up real quick to a stoplight. It's getting ready to turn green and I'm down to 10mph. I wait till we're even steven coming up to the light but we never stopped. Thankfully I get it into first and take off. Well.... he's way back. 4+ car lengths but he was trying. I went from rolling to 80mph... then backed off to wait for him to catch up ... then he pulled up and was gettin on and off the throttle being super pussified rice. Shifting into 2nd and 3rd, taking off and backing off. We just shook our heads and rolled our eyes.
I sure hope he didn't think he won:rolleyes: But anyway, I don't really like street encounters... but some people are just asking - correction- begging to be put in their place. Too bad I'll never see guys like that at the track. Oh well.

I do the same as Larry. I use it to instigate while I'm behind them. I like to rapid fire press them to really get their attention. I don't like to use them too much after I win a race on the highway. I don't want to piss people off with it.

It means...
"you've fallen, and you CAN'T CATCH UP"

also a nice trick to piss off cruiserz, as at least in indiana, u cant get pulled over for going too slow with hazards on. useful for pissing off the hicks (farm trucks with no pipes and more rust than a body) that get left off the lines but feel the need to ride ur @ss once they do catch up
kinda humorous to see every car on the strip backed up going one direction :D
this is assuming it's only a two lane road

good job :D
great i knew what it meant
i thought "i won" and it is correct
but i did not know about "i won and i am not racing anymore" part
once i raced this guy, i had 1/2 car on him and then when we hit 80 i said fu(k it and let go
and he got in front and put his hazards like he suddenly gained on me or something

I've never done the hazards thing. I almost refuse to...
I usually hit the brakes and slow way down so it's pretty obvious I'm slowing down. I also don't wanna get caught goin hella fast.

hehe i was driving up the blue route in PA today and switching back and forth lanes when I got behind this civic ex.. i had no intentions of racing him or anything when all of a sudden he threw his hazards on..haha.. WTF.. he got out of my lane.. i pulled up and just looked at the guy like you gotta be kidding me. and just kept going ;)

arent the hazards also used for communication liek when a lot of people are going to one place people use the hazards to notify the people behind u to make sure they know where to go, u know?
and also it is used to show u won. to prevent the ricer flybys, why doesnt the winner just hit the hazards and then brake, so the ricer will know they are slowing down? i mean if u cruise its not as obvious that you are done, unless u hit the hazards.

i don't use the hazzard light deal, if i initiate a race and win, i just give 2 real fast and light taps on the break pedel to say thanks for racing

I did just that when I raced a Camry at one time. Those guys KNEW I won and obviously saw me slow down (I also flashed hazards). They still did the fly-by and flashed their hazards. Not a lot you can do about their egos.

I use them for all of the previously posted reasons, plus i use them in heavy heavy heavy ass downpouring rain. so the people around me know i am there. alot of times in such heavy rain you can't see 2 feet in front of you, and i dont want some retard rear ending me. so i make my presence known.
