I got a power antannae for Christmas and I'm gonna try to install it when it warms up a bit. I thought there was an install on here on how to do it but I don't know where it went. Any tips or tricks? Thanks - Steve C

it will be a pretty straight forward install...remove your light access and depending on the ant that should be all you need.
the ant cable on your factory will need to be cut...recomend adding a new end...just get any standard ant adapter and cut off the end you don't need to attach to your ant. some have a male end others a female just make sure before you run out and buy the adapter...strip back a good 2 inches of the outer jacket...try not to cut to many of the outside strands...then peel that back and strip about an inch of the second jacket leaving the single center strand...do this to both ends twist the two wires together and then sodier them together...then wrap with tape and bring the outer strands together and wrap those...then all that remains is to install you ant...and get power....if using the stock deck you can either use an accessory power or i recommend a switch..that way you can put it down when you want-like car washes-cruising etc...any questions please email me at innovativecreations@townsqr.com
sorry for such a long post...good luck

That's just what I needed to hear! Thanks staackman for all the input man - good post. I'm on my way to see what the link has that Fourgig posted - hopefully that'll have good info, too. The antennae I got for XMas has a really long cord - so I might try to run it to the deck in place of the stock one instead of cutting and splicing (unless the stock cable is bundled with other wiring... in which case I will be cutting away!). Thanks ! Steve C.

BTW, I didn't have to cut the stock antenna wire. It plugged right into the power antenna.
