on my 2002 CBR 600F4i.. I know im a crazy mo but the oppurtunity came and I had to play. I had straight lanes, no traffic and the need for speed.. 160 on a bike.. LORD thats insane.. :)

Now I'm wondering where this happened. A general location would suffice so the cops out there can't pin down a specific straight and wait for the next round.

Actually I've never ridden a motocycle outta 2nd gear anyways..hehe.

pps. is your car RWD?

no eclipses are RWD. the GSX was AWD, but the GST is front.

160...not bad. The only part that makes me wonder is its November 26th. Its cold as hell outside!!! I've pulled 155 on my TLR, which surprisingly isn't scary at all. The bike still pulls, but I started worrying about getting pulled over doing that speed!

Pulled Over??? At 155 they aren't even gonna bother to chase you. I've done 140 on the back of a bike and that was too scary cause I wasn't in control.

LarryD dont take any pix or vid. your going 160 and taking your hands of the handle is not cool at all... but if you take some pix that would be cool to see your speedo going 160...

There isn't A human alive that could convince me to ride pass. while they went over 100 on A bike. I heard stories where the pass. was pulled off the bike at those speeds.

Yes, Mitsubishi built Zeros (japanese fighter planes). Mistubishi is a huge company and at some point they have made some of everything. Its also very commonplace for a company to switch to military production during wartime, such as the automotive manufacurers built tanks and jeeps in this country during WW2. Rolls royce also has a history of building fighter engines - they in fact build the jet engine in the harrier.

Done it a few times at over 130 I figure if I'm controlling or a passenger and i fall off at 130+ I'm a road pizza anyways....

You guys want to see crazy fast videos on bikes check out the Starboys out of Ohio. They have a series called FTP that shows them doing ridiculous speeds on bikes while videotaping (some from cars, some from the bikes)..plus the LV Exztreme tapes are nuts too...

Id love to get one of those video cameras you can mount on the bike cuz that would be a rush just watching myself at 160..

I rode it for about 4 miles at that speed but youd be suprised how fast 4 miles goes by :)

Oh and this was on 295 over in NJ.

I got up to 130 the other day on my Kat....Wow, that was scarry enough. Note to self: Dont jab the breaks at 130mph... I dont know if my bike would do 160...I think it says 165 on the speedo...I need leathers, at least a jacket

So... would you have rode your bike naked (atleast leave underwear on :) ) if you have a chance to break that 160mph speed? hahahaha
Oh god... I put a bad mental picture in my head... got to go puke now hahahaha

wow is it really that scary? i saw a video of a guy riding a turbo bike doing 220+. i kept wondering what would happen if he falls.. starting to wonder if it was 220 km or mph.. anyway how fast are bikes anyway? the medium cc? thinking of getting one maybe when i finish schooling.

yea, i was about to say 160 is no problem for some bikes. if it was 200...now that's impressive :)

but its a good thing you didn't do faster than that...you got a backpack on or something, really screws the drag factor.

I hit 100 plus every day in the gts the ninja is really stable at 145 never been 160 but never had enough highway for my 600. the gsxr 1100 is another story but she needs a little love before i'll push her up that high. for those of you that don't know 160 feel's pretty good on a bike the guys who race em hit 180 + with little effort but stable nerves is a must [track not street riding]

man its a rush not for the inexperienced

Whoaa...be careful out there Larry, I sure hope you wear gear (not that it will help at those speeds). I hit 130 on my FZR once and that was just too stupid fast...by the time I saw someone on the horizon I already passed him.

No pics, no warp 7. :gap:

Jeez, that's flying. With all the crap on the roads out here, especially with winter starting, you'd be crazy to try it on Colorado roads.

Don't kill yourself.

Welcome Larry to the 160 club on a bike. Now after you hit it how did you try to pull your helmet back down on your head? It is a good feeling to hit that mark isn't it. Especially on a 600. We need to hook up this year to do some ridin'. I have a 2000 CBR 929RR w/ Arknapovic exhaust, Stage III programer, removed butterfly valve, Carbon fiber wheels from www.Hardracing.com, and my mirrors have televsions in them with the camera mounted under the back fairing. Now you will have to try 180mph. Now thats a rush

larryd
12-01-2002, 01:12 AM
nah i think im happy with 160.. I dont even think I want to do that again.. Ofcourse I say that now but when I get on the bike its a whole nother story.

To the peepz whove never rode a bike youd have to understand that 100mph on a bike feels like 50mph in a car, so 160 is insanely fast but you feel like your superman or something :)

Alright f00...you just convinced me to set a goal to break 160 next spring on the old Tiller. And that's with a calibrated speedometer ;) Most bikes read very optimistic on the speedo :D
