Weird Noises from Engine Bay?

there's this weird high pitch squeeking noise coming out of the engine bay at certain times. sometimes its there and sometimes its not. for a while i thought it was the belt tensioner but i had that replaced about 10 months ago. it sounds like its coming from somewhere in tranny. its hard to describe the noise but it almost sounds like a metal part that's not oiled or a gear that's being held back while the other gears are spinning.

does anyone know what it could be or has it happened to someone before?

Look in the Repair/Maintainence Forum. Theres several threads about trans squeaks and noises, I suggest you look to see if your problem is similar, then we'll go from there.

It might be another drive belt. I had to get both the belt tensioner and drive belt replaced. Toyota said that the belt had melted a little and the glaze that had formed was causing it to "stick".
