talon turbo vs. 02 GTS 6spd

not sure what he had in mods but i have an cai and an exhaust..........and from a rolling start we were pretty even.........i could hear a turbo spooling up.....it was kinda loud..........but from a stop light that foo didnt know how to launch cuz i spanked his ass!!!! Any feedback! which car is faster?

I wish they sold the eclipse here. I almost picked up a 97' awd turbo talon... sometimes I wish I did... whenever I'm in one of those turbo envy moods

wus up, good kill...those car are pretty quick off the line because of the awd but from a roll you should take him. I raced a guy with bolt ons and boost controller Talon TSI, he got me off the line but I pulled after that and beat him. They don't have any top speed. Modifed talon TSI i see doing mid to low 14s so be careful for those. lates

yes good kill.. the car in stock trim has no top end.. with a few basic bolt ons the car can run with a GTS with i/e and with a new bigger turbo.. you can forget it :)

not really.. not unless they have atleast a filter.. when I added my filter I could hear the turbo spool up and the BOV when it went off.. but when it was stock stock..i couldnt hear anyything..

i got a friend with a 91 eagle talon turbo FWD. that thing is fast as crap. its one of the faster cars around here. he is running about 20 psi on the factory turbo. hes got port and polish manifold, custom exhaust, intake, and the boost knocked up. its real fast.

20 psi on a 14b? I thought those things were only sufficient up till 18 psi. Beyond that and it's blowing hot air. I may be wrong though, I'm more knowledgable with 2gs and 3gs.

A stock talon would not give a i/h/e Celica much of a run on the highway. As far as a moddified Talon turbo as most are nowadays...better bring a big bottle with you.
With a 2.5" exhaust, an intake, and a manual boost controller,
13's in a AWD DSM are a cake walk. :)

Hehe...Talk to LarryD about that, hes got the 2nd gen. DSM.
I have a first generation DSM, crankwalk is almost non-existent on the 90-94 cars. ;)

your right actually. he is running 18 psi. since he put his exhaust on he said it knocked him up a couple psi. i dont know how, but he said it did. i rode with him and i looked at the gauge. its only 18.

funny thing is 1st gear for my 02 cuts off at 7600 and 2nd 3rd and 4th cut of at 7800.
