Mothers Carnuaba Wax

mother's carnuaba wax sucks! i mean its smooth like hell, but for like 2 weeks. it gets dirty, so you wash it, and its not smooth anymore. WTF is that?! but the claybar is not bad, neither is the instant detailer from mothers. the claybar package came with a small bottle of wax so i just used that.

what wax will leave the smoothness and protection for a long time, like a month or more? zaino? how about zymol? from the NSX test thing they sed zymol natural liquid auto polish is good, but i cant find that anywhere, only zymol cleaner wax.

or will more than one coat of mothers wax last longer? how bout if i did like 3-5 coats?? would that last a while?

I haven't had that bad of results with carnuba wax. I have the Mother's Clay bar package too, and I am pretty sure that the small bottle of wax that comes with it is their cleaner wax and not carnuba. (maybe I'm reading your post wrong, are you refering that the wax that comes with the clay bar system sucks? that's how I read it)
More than one coat of the carnuba is nice and helps it last longer. 3-4 coats would probably be over kill. To get either of the "Z" products you need to find an authorized dealer to get the good stuff, Pep Boys and the like don't have the top of the line items from them, if any at all.

I just got the black gts today and already there's fingerprints on the door and various spots. Can I just wet down that area and use the detailing spray? Is there something else I have to do before/after using the spray?

all you need to do is spray the area where the prints are and wipe off.

Umm...I used the Carnauba wax from Mother's before I got the Zaino system and I found it to be a great system for the price. For a little over $20 you can get their 3 step waxing system, and 1 coat of the wax was adequate to my needs and lasted me much longer than it needed to, since I wax my car once a month.

zymol is sold at kragen autostores. they are circle like bottles... they remove scratch marks or help mask them. mother's wax does suck, I even talked to the founder's son... I don't think its worth the $$$ at all... get MEGUAIRS -they been around longer, they have a larger company, classic models in auto museums use meguairs, meguairs is better quality... people everytime say MEGUAIRS>>>>>!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe you should try the hard wax that comes in a tub. I have never used it myself. But i can imagine it may last longer.

Dude, the wax that comes in the claybar kit is a CLEANER wax. You'll never get results with that like you would with a 2 stepper like Meguiars #7 and 26. try that. you won't believe it. And only 20 bucks.
