Well...you'll appreciate the difference, let's just say that much.

When I installed my B&M, the kit actually came with washers and bushings to raise the stock housing about half an inch.

The throw of the shifter is quite a bit shorter than the TRD, but it has more of a mechanical feel to it. Very direct, and I believe takes a little bit more muscle to move it into place.

The TRD actually replaces the entire housing...it's very smooth...BUT..I don't think the TRD SS will work with your 01. I can't remember if they redesigned it, but I do remember people having problems with it late last year.

Someone can probably give you the proper info on that one...

Get B&M, i think they are the shortest, voodoogts has the twm and likes mine more ;)...once u put it on, it just feels awesome, stiff at first, but just wear it in a lil.

shorter isn't always the better choice.
i had b&m and switched to trd.
TRD is smooth as silk.
B&M takes man power to do it over and over

The B&M seems pretty hard at first, but I dont even notice anymore..Its pretty damn short, but the TWM or whatever it she shortest by far

I want a SS (not much money) BUT i heard that on B&M and TWM that you gring the 1-2 shift when trying to shift fast..... is this true, or do they need to practice more?

Unfortunately, this is true with the B&M, however i haven't grinded in a long time, so maybe just had to wear it in enough.

I think if you grind a lot on the 1-2 with the B&M you just need more practice, I have the B&M and I dont grind any more or less than I did with stock. Its just shorter, more mechanical, requires a little more effort, but much, much faster.
$150 well spent, IMHO.
