I WANT TO KNOW HOW MUCH FASTER IS GT MANNUAL TO GT AUTO
IS IT WORTH IT TO PUT MONEY ON A GT AUTO????

DO U GUYZ THINK THAT A POSSIBLILTY AUTO WILL BEAT A MANNUAL??

Anything is possible, like the manual guy missing shifts on three gears, but the auto beating the manual is highly unlikely, by a wide margin.

i got manual even though i did not how to drive it at first, after misshifts and stalling engine couple of times

I lost to an auto once in my GT 5spd, I took him off the line and shifted at 3000rpms into 5th, he won by a 1/2 car length. Even gave me the hazards. :( :D :p

Check out the FAQ section for differences between auto and manual. A auto transmission has more moving parts and therefore sucks more power out of the engine to perform. Plus with a manual you can control the power of the engine a hell of a lot more effeciently. I really don't see it possible for an auto to beat a manual with all other factors even.

Like Chris said, with all factors even, no auto will beat a manual. Because of the additional components of the automatic, more weight is added and there are more components for the energy to be lost to. That's not even counting in the factor that the electronics are controlling the shifting (therefore called an automatic) adding some lag time.

whoa, whoa, there. auto celicas suck compared to manual celicas. the same is true for most if not all 4 bangers.

but autos are generally preferred in drag racing. SERIOUS drag racing when you've got a lot of power.

it's partly why supra automatics run the quarter faster than 6-speeds on a consistent basis, especially as you start modding. 6-speed supras have trouble breaking out of 12s because of traction problems, while some auto supras with the same mods can crack into 11s.
