that is not true... I've taken the fog housing apart before to see if there was a filter in place. It was the light bulb I replaced, I thought I had the hyper white, but it turned out to be bright yellow when lit up.. Make sure when you purchase the bulbs that it actually lights up hyper white. My friends fog works fine as hyperwhite in his celica.

Since you've removed it you might be able to answer my question. Do the stock fogs have something protecting them? When I look at mine I notice that the exposed face is kind of like a shield/guard and the fog lights are inside. I was thinking of getting something to protect them as I hear they're really expensive. But are the fog lights actually inside this protective cover or what?

Thanks.

REdox.. yes.. there are two layers. Outside layer lens protects the inside lens plus your bulbs.. i dont think you should spend any money trying to protect the outside layer. There is no way to take the outside and inside layer apart as you will have to break the fog housing.. They are clear white too, I did not see anything filter like in the housing.. Mine is 2k1.. i dunno about 2k celis tho..
