i installed the trd springs in my garage...torque everything down to spec...everytime i enter a driveway or go over uneven streets i hear creaking noises...i remember hearing them before but not this loud....
going straight or turning on level surfaces is smoottthh....
anybody elses car do this?
kind of sounds like my chassis/body....not my shocks or springs.

1. Make sure the springs are lined up properly on their perches & seated.
2. Make sure the bolts on the endlinks are tight, that was creakinin on mine.

Ok guys, I had my trd springs and hotckhis sways installed about 2 weeks ago. I got creaking sound also but only when going over bumps, dips etc. When I went back to the store, they greased everything however creaking noise was still there. What they noticed was that rear sway bar was hitting the muffler heat shield everytime you press down on the car. So all we did was pry the muffler heat shield down a little and voila no more creaking sound.

I'm not sure if this is the same thing happening to you folks but it's worth a try.

~Cheers.

For about week.. there is break in period.. when you go over bumps.. it makes some noise...
It's where bump stop pops back into place... which is normal...

Your case might be different.... but give about a week..
Did you cut your bump stop?? I'm not sure.. but shop where they did mine (Skunk2 lowering spring).. they cut the bump stop...

After a week.. I don't hear anything....

It sounds like I had the exact creaking sound from my 2001 GT... It has taken me almost 2 years, more than 8 visits to Toyota, one dent on each doors, a repainted door, scratched plastic, arbitration and 5 different dealerships to get some sort of satsifaction.

To make a long story short, the creaking sound in my car was coming from the passenger lower "b" pillar... My sound was similar to a lot other members. In my case, the creaking sound was coming from a broken weld causing two panels to rub against each other.

I can not say if the problem has been fixed, as it has been a month and I have not heard the sound yet. But every other attempt by Toyota was only a short term fix.

Anyone trying to get this fixed by Toyota -good luck. I have wasted so much time, energy and money trying to get a legitimate manufactures defect fixed under warranty. Plus I still do not know how long this last fix will last.

Are Toyota service depots not properly trained to fix more complex issues or is it that they just do not care?

Anonther member in Canada took his car into a dealership to get his issue looks at. The delaership refused to look at or fix it. He only has one dealership in his town.

This is ridiculous, Toyota needs to take responisbility.

One of the thing that I did was run over the speed bump kind of fast...
That might help the bump stop pop back in.... :D
But try that on your own risk...

i think its our interior plastic rubbing against each other...that can be a possiblity...iam going to install hotchis springs on my friends car tomm...and will test drive without the interior plastics and see what happens.
