View Full Version : CEL (3 months after CAI install?)

alright i know this has been discussed many times before but i can't seem to find anything in my search. but, like i said my CEL came on today for the first time but it's been 3 monthes since i installed my CAI. what do i do. i don't wanna go to the dealer cause i voided my warranty with the exhaust and intake (i think)

Just reset the ECU, and give it some time. If it still comes on then you have a problem, but it probably won't.

just put the stock intake and exhaust back on them go to the dealer (if u still have them)<IMG SRC="http://www.newcelica.org/ubb/smilies/cwm12.gif" border=0>

yeah take the negative pole off the battery for a few secs. then screw it back it.

celica414....that's the same thing that happend to me.....i just unpluged the (-) end and checked all my conectionz and pluged it back in.....and it didn't come back on....main thing is to check all ur piping

hey guys i pulled the negative batery but the light is still on. is there anything else i can do. i really don't wanna go to toyota. any suggestions would be really appreciated. thanks

Hmmm...if you don't see anything wrong with the CAI, and it did come on after 3 months, and it won't go away. Maybe you should put back your stock air box to make sure it's not something else that's causing the CEL.

if u have a Injen CAI.....check the pipe that runz from the fan to the computer wall.....cuz most of the time that gets loose cuz it's right next to the intake pipe and it gets loose cuz of the vibrationz

well, i brought my car to an auto reair shop so they could hook it up to a computer, for some reason my sensors picked up that all four cylinders misfired!!! this definately did not happen so i'm not sure why it's reading this. anyway,he reset the ecu and hopefully the light won't come back on.

if you wanted to reset it yourself open up the fuseblock in the engine bay and pull out the fuses numbered 19,20,24 and hold them out for a minute or 2 until the ECU flashrom dumps.. thats all.
