Hey guys i think I found my car, but it's 7 hours away. It's a '00 GT manual with 27k miles for $14k, with a clean CARFAX history. It's hella clean fomr the interior pics I saw and it's soo shiny. What do you guys think? Good deal? If someone would host a pic or 2 for me.....

I'm sure you can find the same year GT-S wih simila miles for the same price range. I've seen many 30K GT-S goin for 15K.

Well assuming it has every option and is completely mint Edmunds is coming up with a price of about $13,400 for private party. Figure Edmunds is 15% high compared to real world market which is pretty typical and it sounds like a terrible price to me. Shop around, I bet you can find a NEW 2002 still on the dealers lot for around $16,000.

Just a reminder to check the VIN number on all body parts (doors, trunk, hood, etc.) to see if they match up. Reason for doing so is because carfax does not report minor accidents.

I'm think of selling mine in the Spring. Auto GT's suck. I'd be looking for a 97-99 Eclipse GSX. I doubt I'd be able to sell mine though. It has about 46K miles on it. I think my buy out on my lease is around 17K right now, maybe 16,500. KBB private party lists mine for about 12,500.
Bahh...I'll probably end up keeping it.

I don't think he'll have any competition. The odds of me selling my car are slim to none.

hahaha yeah hard to beat LarryD unless you are totally modding it out.
Want to buy my car? I am looking $27,000 for it it is totally modded out, only stereo, seats left to do.
Oh and stand alone electronic management system for the ECU, but thats it for the performance part :D

Actually Mike, If I COULD do it...I'd totally mod out the engine before I did anything else. But like I said, the chances of it happening are about nil.
Maybe I could drive my Celica into a lake or something...:chuckles:

What's up with all these $15K GT-S's? I've been paying on mine for over two years now, and I still owe$17.5K on it!!! It's making it rather hard to sell, even with all the extras I've got in it.

I don't think people properly research the value of their car before putting it up for sale. I tried to sell mine at about the 2 year mark. BB had it for $17,500 and the buy out was $21,000. I put it up on Autotrader. Then as I was leafing through a copy of Autotrader I found a Celica, pretty much identical as mine for $14,500 which was the dealer trade-in value. I then took mine off the market because there was no way I was going to be able to sell it with that guy "low-balling" everyone.
