View Full Version : Fiber Images or VIS? Which one makes better CF Hood?

I am thinking of buying a CF hood from some one in this site, but don't know which one i should get... and also what should I look carefully of the the hood? If i buy a FI CF hood, which CF raised Hood scoop will fit?

VIS

tight weave
wrapped around the edges
Latch works and is sturday (You don't want your hood coming off when you're driving)
ummm....the edges match up with your car
ionno...and no scratch marks if its new

Oh~ so could anyone please post pictures for both Hood?
THX! BTW, which one is lighter? because I am not looking for the look~( I don't think the CF Hood will make a car looks more cool ^_^)

If you can get an older fiberimages hood. It is actually lighter than Vis by about 5lbs. The vis hood is 13 lbs about and the older FI hood (mine is at leasT) 8 lbs.... I don't really care :)

FI isn't as good as they used to be. I guess they got too big too fast and started cranking out poorly made product to keep up with the demand. Just about every FI hood owner I talk to said their hood had tons of scratches and air bubbles/discoloration in the finish and this was when it was brand new. I haven;t heard any complaints from VIS owners yet.

OETuning's hood is better than VIS imho; ive seen both side by side

i love my VIS, fit is perfect and edges are rolled all around. but i've seen swifts hood and that was even better!!
