PICS!! - Supra Meet + our Celica

I went along to a local Supra meet on the weekend. I took the Celica to try and "represent" although it didnt seem to make much of an impact :) Anyway, there were about 10-15 Supras in all, most MK4's but there were some MK3's too.

Check out the Veilside kitted one, that seemed to stand out from the rest.

Our Celica is in a couple of pics, they are not the best pics and I'll try and do a better collection sometime soon. It was a freezing day and apparently one of the guys lost control of his Supra on the way home. I think he was ok though, just some damage to the car. :(

Hey, dont sit there insulting peeps just cos you dont like what they've done to their cars. FFS i dunno why I bother posting the ****ing pictures.

The first car with the Wing was probably the black Supra with the full Veilside bodykit. Have you never seen that before?

Hehe, look, I couldnt care less what you have to say about people cars m8, its your opinion like you said, it doesnt mean the owner is a dork does it?

The owner of that car is a female, and I believe she bought it about a year ago, I also think she said its been at car shows like Max Power live (I think I saw it there in 2000) and in some car magazines.

Its gotta be said, that car seemd to get a lot more looks than any of the others :)

Ok maybe you are right, but when someone sees a ricer on the road isn't the typical first thing you say is "look at that dork" or something like that? If she has a veilside kit then I would imagine her's gets the most looks. It's a sweet kit, but I still don't like the spoiler ;)

Ho hum, this is the first time Ive actually seen people calling Veilside stuff rice. Oh well, is there anyone out there with some nice comments to post?

I wouldn't nesessarily call that wing rice. That car can back it up. A moddified Toyota Supra will beat just about anything else on the road, either moddified (Honda Civic Si Turbo) or factory (Ferrarri 555). The wing looks great! Its probably functional too. Seems like the pictures were taken towards the end of the day, but I still got a good loo at most of the "Mark 4s". I have been searching for one for years, with absolutely zero luck. I've came close to setting my sights on one, but it was an automatic trans. Very venerable cars, and I wouldn't call a Turbo Supra rice, unless it had those annoying washer LEDs on its roof. Just my $0.02.

Mike, that wing is functional, I believe the top part of the wing is adjustable, and its set on Max downforce atm, which is understandable. The day was awful, rain, sleet and completely freezing, but it was worth meeting up with the guys + gals. pics were taken around 3-4pm. Only time it seemed to brighten up!

a body kit is a good way to ruin a car that looks so perfect just left alone... like the other supras at that meet.

i dunno about calling the supra wing rice or not, but the license plate arrangement kinda sucks.... does law require u to plater ur plate over ur hood? if cali tried to pull that off, we'd be all over their arses...... all that trouble into making the cars nice, and then the law screws u over....:mad:

The wing looks a bit much when you look at it from the back. But when you see the kit from the front it fits the car nicely. So it's all in the perspective of the car.

FriedRice, there are laws about the number plate system here that require them to be like that, I think you could also get away with having a square plate that can sit over the front spoiler. It sucks but I guess the owner wanted to put it on the bonnet/hood instead of blocking off the front end so they could get more air into the engine I guess!?

That car looks awesome in RL, those pics dont really do it justice tbh, its not rice at all, you guys need to sort out what is and isnt rice, even more so when the wing actually add's to the handling of the car.

KIT: By your definition, most everything anyone does to their car is "rice." Really. Think about it.

Bobbeh: Was that your Celi in Picture 12? I like those rims (OZ F1 Cups, right?). And, don't worry about what's "rice" and what's not. It's all a matter of opinion and you can never unequivocally convince someone of one thing or another. I can say that there are mods I really like ... on other people's cars; things I would never do but I think are kind of a cool idea. That wing on that Supra isn't one of those but, if the owner likes it, who the hell else matters? Nobody, I think.

DailyDog: Thats our Celica in Pic 12, and in another pic (if u can spot it :) ) the wheels where Toyotas 17" wheel option. I dont think they are the OZ Cups, although they look very similar. They have no OZ writing on them afaik.

Im not too bothered about people calling things rice, its their opinion isnt it and after all, it's not my car. It just seems that people are happier to slate the cars rather than commend them, which seems sad, especially as the Veilside kit on that Supra one of the most common and classic MK4 Supra bodykits around. ;)

Like I said, it looks MUCH better IRL :)
