So last night we go to a club. Try to, that is
we give up at midnight.the place is obviously invisible.
on the way back it started to rain.
i waxed my car this weekend...cleaned the inside and all.
i finally walked in the door at around 2am....it was raining. i opened the garage...cleared out a space for the car....then proceeded to get my friend to help me wipe all the water off it with towels....at 2am.
is it just me or dose anyone else take care of their cars like this?
i figure if im gonna own a 20thousand dollar toy like this....i'd better take good care of it.

Just becareful when you wipe down your car. I would only consider using some type of "squeegy" to drag the water off the glass parts of the car (windows, sunroof), but I wouldn't nessesary want to wipe down my car with a towel. Use a leather chammois, it will less likely lead to microcuts in the wax and paint, which will lead to over oxidation, and over time, a really ugly paint job. If you insisit on using a towel, make sure its VERY CLEAN, like super clean, not touch anything else, like the floor for even a second. Some small particles can be inbedded in a regular cotton towel, and scratch away at the paint, but you can't see it, its so small, depending on the size of the dirt on the towel. Just a heads up. I don't want to see anybody do something that they would regret and not know it.

I treat all my cars like dirt, whether new or old car. People won't sit on my car because it's dirty.
I do treat myself with high quality shampoo, soap, etc.........

unfortunately, wax doesn not last long, especially in houston.
the rain is about as much water as it is acid.
pollution sucks for your car. wax protects it...but the acidic ph of the rain eats away at that stuff.
i generally just use polish anyway
it makes my car look kinda deep blue/purple
everyone loves the way it looks...i get comments from everyone from kids to old grandmas
hell even some homeless guy (instead of asking for money) goes "THAT CAR IS TIGHT AS ****!"
meguiars gold class polish. works miracles

get zaino
it will last you soooooooo much longer than that crap meguirs.
the meguirs stuff lasted me one maybe two weeks (which is very bad)
seriously i used that same meguirs stuff for the last year and a half and swithed to zaino and it has lasted 2 months and still going, and the shine is crazy.
definetly look into the stuff

I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. You're suppose to wax every month. If you're doing those once a yr car polish then yeah you're suppose to do it every 6 months to a yr, but regular wax like Meguiar's is suppose to be applied every month. If you put on a thin layer of wax and take it off, I don't see that messing up the wax. On the other hand, if you try to put on a thick @ss layer then you might run into a problem.

 I have a related question for all you waxing experts :
Is it possible and if yes, how to restore the original "tough" clear-coating on our celicas ourselves ? You know, the factory clear-coating that so magicaly propells all the dirts out there. You can tell how tough it is because it acts like RainX - water drops doesn't blend, it drips.
the reason I ask is that dry wax only lasts about 4 weeks. But this factory coating - I figure it will last for about 4 months ?
thanks

what i really meant was not just waxing but waxing without stripping the old layer of wax off. if u just keep waxing and put wax on top of old wax, it actually dulls ur paint some.
