Looking for a beater

Tired of stupid bitches hitting me, and want to keep the miles low on the celica. Any suggestions for a good beater, and where to get one?

and yes, i do realize autotrader.com and related sites are useful, but im wondering what car you would buy if you were going to get one.

Honestly, I'd probably buy a mid-90's Civic hatch or some small import pickup...just because of the reliablity, low maintenance, and low gas consumption.

i have a 1987 toyota tercell...its great..its got 150,000 miles on it and it runs great....i just found another one that im gonna buy casue im gonan need a nrew engine in mine soon....its sooo nice to have a car that i can use in the rain and snow and dont have to worry abut my celica getting dirty and putting loads of mile son it...its the best thing i ever did..also it made my insurance go donw too

Last year my friend bought a 1993 Civc HB DX 5speed for $2,500 with 87,000 on it...let me tell you...now the car has over 110K, the guy beats the hell out of it...and it lasts....good cars...and believe it or not ....he did take out my g/f auto Gt celica..on a highway and stop, hes only got intake and exhaust.

Get a Trueno AE86 which is known in the US as the SR5 Corolla GTS mid 80's. They come with the cool 4AG motor and some with LSD too!! Swap in a 4AG redtop and you got one quick drifter/daily driver! Very JDMish. Or you can always get an AE92 Corolla GTS with the 140HP redtop stock, my friend just picked up a 1990 from an old lady for 2000 bucks, man that thing is pretty quick and in very good condition. I would love to have either as a daily driver.

A Tercel can take a **** load of punishment. Even the 4spd manual tranny holds up well and because it's so light it actually feels pretty quick with 90hp and 90trq :chuckles:

man, if i could find one of those i'd love to grab it up.
but back to topic, i'd get an early 90's 240sx. i think they look real good for their time, and they're good RWD drifters too :). plus, if you decide to keep it, you can turbo the KA or do the sr20det swap and make some serious power. pretty reliable and cheap too.
