Ok can someone help me out here it said not to down shift to second while driving over 57MPH but I might have once and I heard a popping sound, so far I have randomly heard it 2 more times but I have not downshifted to second while over 57MPH no more, what could it be my car only has 1200 miles on it I just traded my auto GT for it.

Wish I knew but I dont. Does it only do it when downshifting at that speed? You shouldnt do it at that speed. Thats redlining in second so you couldnt get any benefits from it.

Is the sound before or after you let off the clutch? Also, do you feel any movement in the shifter when the sound occurs?

Its after I let the clutch go no movement onn the shifter, but a loud pop, I thought I backfired or something.

If you have any kind of aftermarket exhaust it may just be the exhaust popping. My kazuma will do it every now and then when moving through a wide rev range during downshifting. But if it's a mechanical problem then it's one I haven't seen before. If it were a worn synchro it would be more of a grinding in your gears. Can you tell where the sound is coming from? Engine? Transmission? Exhaust?
