wats up,i'm new to this site, but it's really kool, alot of nice pics, and alot of good info. ok here's my question. i'm lookin for my first car and i want a celica. i've gone to alot of dealers and all the celicas i see wit my parents "are too expensive". a couple of days a go i saw a 00' celica gt-s,black,6 speed, carbon fiber dash,an after maket exhaust, spoiler, fog lights, wit about 26000 miles.the dealer was askin bout $19000 for it,my parents got him down to $16895,and my paerents wouldn't take it. is $16895 alot for this car??its in great condition

Aftermarket stuff like the exhaust and dash are 100% worthless when it comes to the increasing the value of the car. However, the blue book value of the car is still $18,670 so if you bought the one at the dealer you would actually be paying $2000 less than what it is worth. So that is definately a good deal.

So what are you going to do now that you know that it is a good deal? Are you going to try to rag on your parents to get them to cave in and buy it for you? It kind of sounds like your parents just don't want to spend that much on you for your car. If I were you I would be happy with what ever they buy you, my parents never bought me a car when I was in High School, not even a rusted out beater car. I had to get a job to buy a crappy car and upgrade from there. I must addmit though, it would have been pretty sweet to just be given a GTS while I was still in high school. Good luck ;)

You sound like you were in my situation. Back in high school, I used to have to walk 25mins to work everyday. Nor rain, sleet or snow was my motto. There were times when I could barely talk from coming in from the cold. Sometimes my parents would let me borrow their car, but for the most part I was carless. When I got my car, I was so happy. A lot of people rag on me about having an auto, but I don't care, I love my car.

Got a question for you. Does it ever annoy you that some kids get a Celica and don't even appreciate it? I know it does me at times when people are like my parents should have gotten me something faster/look better. I'm thinking in my mind "at least they bought you a car."

Haha...when I was in high school I didn't have a car for the first two months after my license. And then I drove this wanna-be lowrider '81 Mercury Cougar XR-7 with custom tint and a sound system. I thought my car was the sh!t then. Of course, being in Catholic school, my car was crap compared with the other SUVs, Mercedes, and Bimmers in the parking lot. But at least I appreciated what I had at the time. Now I look back and wonder how the hell I drove that thing.

I too get ragged on for having an auto, but I don't care. I'm happy with my car...it still has the looks. Some kids need to appreciate what they have. At least I can say I got this car with my own money.
