Ok, this race was with a friend of mine whose brother owns a porsche boxster (NOT the S type). He was borrowing the car and was over at my house late on a sat night (this was a while ago). I asked him if he thought my car could keep up with his and he said he didnt know, so we went out to a little back road to find out. He had a passenger with him (combined weight of passenger and driver about 340 against my 160) so i had a little advantage there. Now he has TCS and aftermarket PHAT AZZ wheels on the boxter so i knew he was gonna kick my ass in a launch, but we tried anyway. (by the way this was when my car was stock) we get to the road and line them up and we had agreed that the passenger in the other car would just randomly scream out "GO" at any moment so noone had an advantage, So we both rev to launch RPM's and then we hear "GO" so i drop it around 3500 and of course get a little wheel spin and his ass just launches off (he has some super wide tires in the back, not sure what, but they stick out of the rear wheel well by like 1/2 CM) well he gets the better launch and i noticed that i didnt loose any distance through any of the gears so I asked him to take it from a role on the highway. He agreed and when we get out there we slow to 20 and he yells go, so i drop it in first gear and am already in lift, switch to 2nd and land at about 6300 (really good shift) with a little tire screach switch to 3rd and i was like 1/2 a car ahead after the end of third, i was amazed but it was a really good race, we shut it down after that since neither of us wanted to know bad enough whose car was faster to risk the ticket, but what do you guys think? is he a bad driver or is this thing that fast?

you said, and i quote, "PHAT AZZ" rims :) now, does this mean really nice performance rims or FAT ASS rims :P If he has big show type rims that would've slowed his car down marginally along side with the passenger.

good runs man.. sounds bout right.. boxsters are mid 14 second cars.. from a roll on your chances are better as obviosuly the boxster is an easily luanchable car being mid engine RWD :)

haha, I see you guys are down with my terminoligy. I was refering to "PHAT AZZ" rims as both phat like sweet and big like fat, I was being a dork. But they are actually 18x8.5 or so i think, with 265's on the back, does that sound right? they are big and im sure they weigh more and slow him down a little, but the car was built more for handling anyway, and it turns like liquid in a bent pipe, and it never looses traction at all, not even when turning to the max and hammering the gas, its a great car, but the celica puts up a good fight.
