heh..... gt auto bro, here i come: look, it's not much a shame to drive an automatic car.... parents will do what they think is best, and their just doing their job. A celica is not cheap, and your parents probably made quite a few sacrifices to get u ur car (unless ur filthy rich). i know mine did. gt autos are good for just everyday driving....the handling is the same as a manual, braking, etc.... so just feel good about ur car :D... besides, some people hate driving stick, no matter how fun it seems at the moment...
gotta gt auto.... no regrets... still get the looks and i can change cd's while driving
anyhoo, to answer ur question: i'd start thinking about the WC turbo.... if they ever get it finished ;) then get the torque converter..... and if u still got money, exhaust. i dunno if its worth the trouble tho.... daily driver or mediocre racer? (okay upper mid-range racer) ur decision

Preach on, brotha FriedRice.
Ya, Level10 is the best thing out there I've heard of for our cars, besides doing basic mods like intake and exhaust. It may sound dumb to some people to even attempt performance gains on a GT auto, but hey, there will always be someone better, bigger and faster than you no matter what you got. So I do best with what I have :D
Oh ya, and there's always the turbo dream :)

ok i wouldn't jump into the who level ten tranny upgrade yet, why you ask? after doing some reading up a lot of us have found info that level ten's rebuilt trannys have broken down, but I would look into level ten's torque converters with a higher stall speed (zooq is running his at 3k on his auto gts), before those i'd do your basic upgrades intake (injen cai), header (hotshot from mbautosport), exhaust (kazuma or something custom will probably give you better gains than any other exhaust but might night have the sound you like) then an SAFC with extensive dyno tuning, then when you get the cash you can look into higher upgrades like port and polishing the intake manifold, then either nitrous or a turbo then last but not least a torque converter. There is a video of a turboed auto gt beating a 6 spd gts somewhere. It's of xanto's car, if anyone knows his website it's on there. You can also always reduce weight, take out the back seats spare tire etc gut the car pretty much and you can get some light weight 15in rims and some sticky tires.
Learn the car, a modded car is nothing if it doesn't have a good driver behind it. Learn how to launch it by powerbraking it. If you can start auto-xing the car some, you'll learn tons about the car and how it handles and where the limits are. The auto gt will be more competitive there than it is in a straight line. I hate to say it but without extensive cash flow don't expect it to hang up there with the modded firebirds or mustangs.
