Hi Guys

Several of in the UK have received our Veilside kits via MVP Motorsports.

Can anyone post fitting instructions or pictures. A few of us are having problems with the side skirts. They are refusing to go on properly.

Are they real Veilside, or are they're knockoffs? I'd expect some problems with fit from a copy.

did you remove the stock sideskirt? You will need todo this for proper fitment.

We tried one with the stock sideskirt and one without. Either way still did not want to go on.

Its frustrating to think that Veilside are that tricky to fit.

(Thanks for the sensible reply)

This is from one of the guys with the sideskirts

They are too short to get behind both arches and need cutting away. The inner sill will point up at 40 degrees withing the car door. There is am inch gap in the door when open before it rejoins the rear wing. etc etc.

Firstly they are genuine Kits so please no more are they knockoff questions they were purchased with the involvement of Veilside Japan themselves.

I have one of them and have checked mine they came out of Veilside Boxes the finish is perfection itself fully primed smooth as a babies backside.

The guy who is having the probs is an experienced modder and is using a decent bodyshop!!

I have yet to have my body shop pick mine up so can't comment on the fit of my sideskirts but can't imagine my experience will be much diff as they came from the same batch.

What we need is constructive input from users not lame one liners so if you haven't got any solid input dont bother wasting our time.

Thanks in anticipation

Cheers

i had the body shop that put mine on rivet the skirts inside the door jamb, that was just for extra stability, they fit fine otherwise and i kept the stock slirts on.

Ok here is the exact problem that the Guy is having

http://muchos.co.uk/members/gary525/skirt16.JPG

at point 1 and 5 there is not enough room between the two. Basically some cutting away will need to be done to allow fit.

At point 2 the fit is not good and doesnt follow the shape of the car like the original. It doesnt curve out enough and there is a peak half way along on mine whicj needs removing.

Inside the car at 3, the edge doesnt sit flush and point towards the roof at approx 40 degrees!

at 6 underneath, the kit doesnt reach the sill, much too short.we knew this though.

At 4 within the car, so not visible, there is an inch gap where the sky pinting trim stops short.
May know more in morning as Perry is doing a 2hour , rush hour trek to come to the bodyshop with me. What a star. I'll pay for the srippergram weve got coming to Guams tomorrow night now, in lieu of Perrys stag night. Mrs Guam can relax again.

Ummm...how about a body shop? Nobody can really do anything to solve that problem over a message board. And I don't see any "lame one liners" in anyone's replies

Have you though about contacting Veilside about this problem...considering the price that he paid for that kit, they should come out 100% perfect fit.

Not sure about all your problems cause I didn't have any with mine, but where the sides stick up 40 degrees on the inside, it will be like that til u nail it down. The body shop that did mine didn't use nails, but something of the sort ( don't know what they are).
