Check you tires. When my stock tires were almost shot, I experienced some serious hydroplaning as well.

7000 miles is a lot for the stock tires unfortunately.... mine were totally worn out at 11000...

Stock tires suck in rain.

It doesn't matter what car you drive, the tires are very important.

Get Dunlop SP 9000

I have the same problem! When it rains, the car or (tires) skid sometimes on the freeway, even when I am driving straight. I have 16" GTS rims, and replace the two fronts with Falcon Zeix 502 V-rated tires. THEY SUCK in dry and ESPECIALLY wet weather. I don't drive pass 60 on wet weather with ever since putting the Falcon tires on. Seems like the tires will skid out of control. I have the same problem with the stock Yokohomas, but it wasn't as bad as until I put the 2 Falcon Zeix ons.

Man, and I thought I drove my car hard! I had a decent amount of tread at 18k. I don't really peel out, though (I prefer lateral acceleration! :D ). At around 20k, I hydroplaned doing 45 on a straight highway (where normal speeds approach 80) and slammed into the concrete center divider, blowing out my rear driver's side tire and scraping both driver's side rims to hell. No body damage, though (I saved that for two weeks ago  ).
