View Full Version : Wrecked pics of my Celi.
Well my car was totaled by a Yukon truck that spun out infront of me. I was taking my Girlfriend to the airport and the yukon started to fish tale in the #3 lane on the free way.
A split second later it spun right in front of me and hit us head on. The car is dust and lost alot of money on it. Most importantly the celi saved me and my GF lives thank god for that.
Heres a link to pics of both cars: http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/comptonking/lst?.dir=/My+car+destroyed&.view=t.
A word of advice: Get gap insurence on your insurene poicy it only a few buck more. Too always ware your seat belts at all times accidents happen way to quick.
All the salvaged parts are in the for sale section. Be careful my firends.
ouch...at least you are alive...

you didnt add any extra insurance on your car; so you could get all the money you put into it, you could get that money?

wat is a gap insurance?

gap insurance is purchased through the dealership at the time you finance your car, it picks up where your insurance leaves off by making up the difference in how much they give you and how much is owed, hence GAP. Its actually a good thing i had gap on mine although the insurance company gave my $18,400 for my car with a $500 deductable it gap only had to pick up $800 that i owed on it.

Jeez, man..your front is TORE UP.
It's nice to see it absorbed the impact well, although I'm sure you're gonna be feeling it tomorrow. Trust me.
Anyways...what's on the plan for the new car? I guess if you're selling the parts..you're probably not picking up another Celi, huh?
Shame about your car..it looked like you put alotta time and money into it.
Gap Insurance is a must if you're purchasing a brand new car from the dealership..it'll save you ALOT of money if you get in a serious wreck.

Glad to hear that you came out of it alive. I have been very impressed to hear how well the celi's have been absorbing hits and saving humans. Well having the seatbelts on helps.

Of all of the bad accidents that I have seen here, it seems that rarely does anyone get seriously hurt. I am impressed as to how safe this car has been, considering it's modest curb weight.
Looking at photos 740 and 741, just look at how much front end damage there is and yet how straight the reminder of the car is...impressive.
On another note, look at how little damage was done to the truck altogether.

I'm glad to see you two were unharmed...
I'm am also damn impressed w/ how well the celi performs in front end collisions...My buddy T-boned a Mitsubishi Montero that pulled in front of him....the airbag didn't even touch his face b/c the seatbelts were so secure... He was going between 50 and 45 when he hit the montero, and he didn't ahve a scratch on him...The Celicas front end is an excellant crumple zone. Nobody ever believes me when i say that the celica is a pretty safe car...those pictures and your statements just prove how safe the celica is.
Good luck on the next ride!

I am so glad SUVs are on the roads.
Did you see how he/she spun out, or why? Last year, an Explorer was in front of me in my lane, wanted to go in the other lane, noticed a car in her blind spot the last second and swerved back and forth, and each swerve got worse. I knew it was gonna roll, so I slowed down, and sure enough, she started rolling off the road, and down the embankment. She didn't have her seatbelt on, got tossed from the car, and the car caught fire. She only broke a leg or two, so she was very lucky. Craziest **** I've ever seen though.
Every time I see an SUV try to make a quick move on the highway, you can just see how unstable they are. I always tense up and slow down when I see them swaying.

 I HATE SUV's. Along with Minivans, they should be outlawed. Big, stupid, gas-guzzling, ROAD HAZARDS
I'm sorry about your car, man. It looked soooo nice :(

Yep me and my girl were lucky we came out alive the celica definitly did its job. The impact was prbably 55-60mph the celi keep us safe and I did the right thing.
Suv's are scary they give a false sense of security to drivers. Its the guys fault who hit me but hes blaming it on a ghost driver that cut him off.
He was on a cell phone and i think he just didnt look when he changed lanes, corected himself too quick and lost control. Also it was brand new SUV he probably didnt know how to drive it properly.
A witness caled the CHP and told the cops that it was a ghost drivers fault. I think it was a friend of the drivers hes story matches the suvs drivers to the tee.

yeah thats probably because the ones when ppl actually get hurt or die, they can't come back here and post about it.. not like their friends would log on to tell us that..

dang. looks like your gf's head hit the windsheild. ouch. As hard as it was hit, the crumple zones acted perfectly. the cabin is just about untouched.
