Ok well my friend has a box and a sub he doesn't need right now. He told me i can have them for a while if i want. The Sub is kinda old he said, its a MTX Terminator. and the box is also a MTX. He wasn't sure of the boxs name but its angled, has a little speaker on top, that what he said about it.

Ok now i have some questions. I will put them as easy as possible and in a list to save everyone some time.

1. Is the MTX Terminator any good, i don't need great just some bass.

2. How much will it be to get installed or could i do it my self?

3.Will the sub always be on, Like if i get sick of the bass can i turn it off?

4.Must i buy a AMP or could i just do it some otherway with out an AMP.

Well thats about it I don't care if it hits really hard i just want some more bass. THANKS GUYS....OH by the way i have a stock head unit. thanks again

1. I really don't know what it compares to. If you "don't need great, just some bass" and it is free, I don't see how you could go wrong.

2. I don't know the price to wire an amp, call a local shop and ask $$ of parts and labor to wire a single amp. Other than the cost of the amp, I don't see how it should be more than $100 to do the job, about 2 maybe 3 hours total. (just a guess though) You could do it yourself, depending on your mechanical skill.

3. The sub doesn't always have to be on. Depending on the amp set up you can turn it off or down.

4. You don't have to buy an amp but you should. If you splice into the existing speaker wires to run it alone it will sound like crap if you hear it at all. I'd guess the power from the stock system is probably no more than 25W (50W for the premium system) and most small subs need at least 100W RMS to perform decent. Most people here with 10's and 12's are running between 150-400W, to their subs, some quite a bit more.

Just my thoughts, I am by no means a pro at this.
Some body get in here and help out.

Hey John
You will need an Amp and you can get a valet swith to turn off the sub if you want I don't recomend it. IT is possible to put in yourself but I don't recommend it you may want to try HiFi buys on Alpheretta Highway get Chris to put it in he does great work he has done all the work on my car. By the way are you coming to the meet next saturday?

Thanks guys. i think i will just stay away from subs for right now. Don't have the cash to do it and i rather buy wheels then spend money on stereo right now.

Yes i will try to make the meet. It all depends if my parents let me. I had a C last semester and they say i can't drive. we will see how it goes.

Thanks guys

John
