300 hp HAH!!!!...I don't think they want it encroaching 350Z territory. At least it's not as ugly as the previous generation.

And you people bitch about Honda/Acura's conservative styling. At least they'll never do something like this. Nissan can build entertaining cars, but damn, they can sure build ugly ones too.

:puke: Any body else get the feeling that automobile manufactures and aftermarket body kit makers are in cahoots to make more money off us? The manufacture makes ugly or bland cars on purpose so we spend the extra money to by buy body kits.

I love the powertrain of that car but I can't see myself driving around in some thing that vanilla.

i think it looks more like the G35 and the altima bumped uglies, and made babies..

but i think Nissan is actually taking a step in the right direction, they are the only car company in which their entire line up, is a little bit "different" than the competition..

Would have been better if the had done the bottom of the bumper better.

Yeah, they could have done something better than that....
Too bad...

I talked to people at a Nissan dealership about this car. They say the new Maxima is going to be a lot bigger and should have a V8 of some form in the engine bay. Does that mean it will be fast? I doubt it...it is going to be aimed at someone who wants a luxury car.

I hate what Nissan did with the Altima and Maxima... Especially the C-pillars (reminds me of an old Cadillac)...
Bleh..

This is probably old news but I just went to nissanusa.com and they had the 2004 Maxima. Looks kinda ugly and the interior is bland.

Umm have you not seen the new four door accord that thing is hella ugly too! i guess the Camry is the only sedan that is tolerable in this market now.

I think it will be based on the new Infiniti M45 sedan, which is supposedly making its way over from Japan next year...

Guess we'll have to wait and see...

that car looks fugly!
it reminds me of a saturn for some reason....who will actually buy such a car...might as well just get the altima instead

The M45 is disgusting...
Looks like an old-school police cruiser/taxi or something like that...

Of course, 340hp is nothing to scoff at...

Tell the designer to pick ONE theme and stick with it. This car is all over the place.

It will probly sell well because most people who buy those kind of cars are interested in the brand, comfort, usability (is that a word?), and how many small children they can scare with the car. :)

I agree that the 6th gen Maxima isn't great looking in the front, but some of the photoshop pics are starting to show how amazing this car will look with a drop and some 18s or 19s and slightly different grill.

Here's a good photoshop: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=181755

Here are the stats:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=176634

The new Maxima will have 265hp/255tq and a interesting "Skyview" glass roof that extends from the front seats to the rear seats.

I'm still not sure if I like it....we can photoshop to our hearts content...but that doesn't make it real.

That guy has some pretty good choppin' skills though.

The big question on my mind is...how much will it weigh? That will affect everything...including acceleration and handling.

That skyview sounds pretty neat though.
