Just got into a car accident

i was on my way home on 1960, light turns green i take a left, all of the sudden some car ran the red light and hit me dead on in the front left of my car..... he spins and i turn.... i get out the car pissed to see who it is in the other car.... he crawls over the back seat and from my point of view looks like he was checking on a kid in the back or something... i get back in my car to call the cops and some guy in a truck yelled out " Hes Running ! " i get out my car and see that ****er running down the street.... he left his car.... so some other guy in a white montero says i got it and takes off in his car and cuts him off.... 2 guys from the montero gets out and tackles him and brought him back to where i was..... they held him down untill cops came..... it was some hispanic guy who couldn't speak english and had no insurance.... well cops where there and said he had been drinking and was drunk.... so they took him to jail ...... anyways my front end on the left is bashed in... my front fender was mashed against my left wheel.... cracked my headlights, need a new bumper, bent my CAI.... so thats about it but im just ****in pissed..... what can i do? he has no insurance... Sue him?? they towed my car so i won't be getting it back for a while Sucks....... :wtc: :angry:

Nopes...your insurance will have to pick up the tab man.

I hope the sucker rots in jail...freaking can't speak a lick of english, but he can sure as hell drive on American roads drunk.

oh yea.... once my bumper has to be replaced can i replace it with a front kit? like Kaminari? or is it gonna have to be replaced with the stock one?

As long as you pay the difference, I believe it's very possible. Just talk it over with your insurance.

I had a kit put on when my car was rear-ended, and the insurance paid the price of the stock parts, and I paid the difference.

Yepz..that's basically what I did...they've gotta pay it anyways...OR ..you could just tell your bodyshop, and leave the insurance company completly outta it.

That would probably be the smart thing to do..they've gotta pay for your bumper anyways.

Do a search real quick...I know it's been discussed before.

they gotta pay the full retail price of a new bumper.. which might be the cost of an aftermarket one anyway.. i dunno, my insurance usually cuts me a check of the full estimate of the damage.. and then actually getting it fixed costs less

Sorry to hear about your car. At least you're ok. I got in the same EXACT kind of accident in my Lumina back in the day. Just making what I thought was a "safe" left turn and bam, some old lady runs the light. Worst feeling in the world is seeing that car coming and not being able to do a thing about it.

No....I think the worst is following your wife in your Celica as you watch her Corolla get sideswiped by some old guy who doesn't know where the F he is...

Luckily it was only a low-speed accident around 20-30mph...but you wanna talk about feeling helpless.

I coulda killed the poor man...seriously..I was seething at the time. Only thing that helped me keep my bearing was the fact that I was in uniform.

sorry to hear, but yea, just get a estimate and they usally cut you a check.. or just talk to the insurance guy!(or lady)

if he's illegal, he probably doesn't have the coin to pay for damages.

I'm justifying what he did (he does deserve mucho jail), but taking him to court for any sort of money would be like trying to get 300 hp from a celica engine. Maybe possible, but not practical.

A new front bumper might cost a shop 150 bucks. Mine was wrecked in the rear and the bumper cost 120 so I just put on the WW rear I already had.

Sorry to hear that man. I was in a car accident last month and my car is still in the shop. Some ricer kid in a mustang lost control and slammed into me. That mexican or hispanic is gonna pay. You should file charges in criminal court.....

1. Driving no insurance.
2. Driving while intoxicated.
3. Running from scene of a accident.

You can also get him for things like endangering your life, assault, etc. I doubt he has much money if he has no insurace. Fu*king a.

Hopefully they'll let his ass rot in jail for awhile, then ship him back to Tiajuana or wherever the fvck he came from...that would be punishment enough right there.

The one time I got hit was by some old lady who was cutting through a gas station parking lot trying to avoid the traffic light at an intersection..she nailed me in the rear quarter panel causing $2,200 worth of damage. Funny thing is she jumped out of her car (which was barely even scuffed) and started yelling at ME saying it was MY fault and I should have seen her and moved. :wtf: The cops saw if differently, though. Even though it wasn't my fault, my insurane company dropped me a short time later. :mad:

I hate drunk drivers with a passion. I hate 99% of women drivers and old drivers and I hate cop phobic people. I think we ought to be able to stone drunk driver who have killed someone and just shoot the ones we catch. Make for less traffic too.

ok my mom talked to the DA.... that guy is in jail... probaly gonna leave him there..... well my car is gonna take another week.... eveything is fixed except my hood which the bodyshop is waiting for because i ordred a CF one.... only paying a difference of 100 bucks ( Not Bad )

Yep same thing happend to me. Fu*k stupid uninsured drivers.

My insurece covered the accident only becouse I had uninsured motorist coverage. I Hope you have that.

If you do most companies will only replace your car with stock parts. Your going to have to pay the difference.

It sucks your the victim and you have to pay. Thats why sometimes modding isnt the best thing to do.

My car after everything was fixed got hit again and was totaled. I lost 9 grand on the whole deal the on second accident.

man that sux big time bro, I feel your pain on that one. I had the EXACT same thing happen to me, cept it was my gf's car at the time, ****er ran a stopsign and nailed me doing about 40.. wrecked the whole front of the car, while im sittin there in the middle of the road going wtf just happened he started his pos up and started driving down the road !
it only made it about a block or so, I jumped out of my car to chase him and some big cowboy was driving up and saw him take off and he said I got him bro, he chased that mofo down and yanked his ass outta the car and was sittin on him a block away..
CHP shows up and they didnt even give him a ticket or arrest him or anything, because no ins. no licence no nothing.
