Hi everyone, well I have a problem with my first gear being sticky. This happened after I floored it in first and then got caught on the reverse gate on the 1-2 shift so I didn't get it into gear and I kinda forced it. After that it was sticky in first. Sometimes it would just be really sticky and need to be forced out of first to second. However I can still do the 1-2 shift and stay on the 2nd cam but my first gear is kinda sluggish. Can anyone tell me whats wrong with it? did i misaligned something or messed something up? my 2nd gear is kinda grinding from time to time, could it be that? well any suggestion is appreciated. I don't want to take my car in, in fear that they might do something to my engine. well thanks for taking the time to read this and hopefully someone can explained to me what happen.

well you either fried a syncro (unlikely)
or you just need some driving lessons.
i too wouldh ave trouble going from 1-2 when i first got the car.

the reverse gate positioning makes things a bit tricky.

what year is your GTS?

im making a video which feautres the proper shifting technique for driving this car without misshifting.
it also will show foot positioning for how to land on 1-2 shift in 2nd cam.

its in the final filming stages.

excpect some cool music too. itll be fun :)

well this was my first time hitting the reverse gate. I wasn't sitted correctly after eatting and when I floored it, I kinda slipped out of my chair so thats why I missed it. I have a bunch of videos of me landing the 2nd cam if you want to see it.

i forgot to answer your questions, my celica is a 2001. How likely can I fry my syncro? after I missed it, it was really sticky in first for awhile but the more I drive the more it felt better but still kinda sticky. Now its kinda back to normal but doesn't feel like it should. What else can go wrong?
