why does the celica come with so much wheel gap?

I just dont get it , it seems like it comes from the factory with an ungodly amount of wheel gap , does anyone know why? i think this the celica's most unatractive feature , ive already fixed my problem with it with the aide of my progress springs

because most people dont under stand the consept of a low vehical...Every girl thats ever driven my car has almost ripped off the front bumber backing it out of the driveway.....1 time it was still stock height!!

comparing and contrasting the celicas wheel gap with other sports compacts on the market it looks as if it was designed for off road use , hehehe ,i think they could of tightend up the wheel wells also, I think it makes are aftermarket rims look smaller than they are
