View Full Version : According to the NorCal meet...

Everyone post the dates and times that are the most convenient to them. This way, we can gauge and decide what the best time frame to have a meet will be.

Tentative "official" date has been set at Saturday Nov. 17th w/o a time.

Vote on the following dates:
1. Nov. 16th (Friday)
2. Nov. 17th (Saturday)
3. Nov. 18th (Sunday)
4. None of the above (fill in your own date)

Vote on the following times:
1. Morning (10am - 2pm)
2. Afternoon (Noon - 4pm)
3. Evening (5pm - 9pm)
4. None of the above (fill in your own time)

Here are the most obvious choices available. Remember, we are trying to please the majority, do not feel offended if you aren't part of it - we'll try to make things work out as best as possible.

Who knows, we may even push the date back to the week after, but we should do it before the cold weather and rains start setting in!

3. Nov. 18th (Sunday)

and

1. Morning (10am - 2pm)
or
2. Afternoon (Noon - 4pm)
or
3. Evening (5pm - 9pm)

i dont care that much about time, as i can go anytime (except on friday morning/afternoon). but at night it will be dark to take pics and too cold to be outside comfortably. the best time would be around 1-2pm right after lunch.

So far it seems pretty damn unanimous - Sunday the 17th Noon-4PM...

Chris (GTSOne) is Saturday the ONLY day you can make it, or will Sunday work as well?

I'm waiting for other responses... MSR27, will this day work for you as well?

Andy K., since this is your idea, you have to make it.

As for date and times, it doesn't matter.

I just bought my 2002 gts 6speed about a month and a half ago, and I would like to know a little more about the meet. Such like where is it and do you have a for sure date and time? I am up for anything but would like to know more about it. I am new to the whole celica scene and am interested in meeting some other celica owners in the area. thanks

Well, someone is gonna have to decide a day/time soon. FYI, I'm gonna push for Nov. 18th (Sunday), 12-4pm.

Ok Sunday the 17th from noon-4pm it is. Now where? I say we meet somewhere in the city or the Peninsula, not EVERYONE can come as far as D&B. Lets make a half way point.

Umm..... don't mean to be a smartass or anything, but Saturday is the 17th, and Sunday is the 18th. So which one again?

I still think San Ramon like the last time is the best though. Smack in the middle between North and South (give or take anyway) Or Treasure island again?

Darkwind, he meant Sunday the 18th.

Any place will work for me as long as it's not like more than 50 miles away.

Who has objections to the following?:

1. Dave&Busters in Milpitas
2. San Ramon (wherever place you guys met)
3. Treasure Island
4. Golden Gate Fields
5. Somewhere in Oakland/S.F.
6. Suggest a place.

Everyone who's going pick your top 2 places! Lets get a place set.

I think that san ramon or tresure island is good. On sunday the 18th around 12-4p.
Like "Darkwind" said " Smack in the middle between North and South (give or take anyway)"
Well those are my top two.

Ah, fugk it. Have it at San Ramon since its in the middle. Now someone post a more specific location w/ an address (I think that one movie theater was where it was, forgot though). As for a day, this Sunday from 12pm-4pm. Make sure someone posts directions as well. Just that time is of the essence since this is just a few days away now.

Rexpokinghorn: thanks for clarifying :)

If you guys are ok with San Ramon, I'd suggest the parking lot in front of Borders books. It's a decent size (nothing like Great Mall, mind you, but big enough to fit all of us comfortably) with food stores and coffee shops. (may be we can all pile in for lunch or something too) Border's at:

120 Sunset Drive, San Ramon, CA 94583.

Either Mapquest or Yahoo! map would get you guys there.

For you guys who were at the ATOM2 at Toyota parking lot, Border's on the same road, about 1/4 miles.

What do you guys think???

Hey guys, it's nice that we are setting a time and place for this event.

But remember, when the majority of us met last Wednesday nite, we wanted to make sure new people got involved and attended.

That's why we are discussing the meet here.

Yeah, we got a date and place, who's showing up? The same people I see on Wednesday's and the weekend auto-x events. *Boring* If I'm going to see the same people, I could do that some other time. Sunday is football, beer and BBQ at a friends place. I'll see you regulars at another time.

For people like MSR27, Anna, Celicacg, Oldster, and others, lets be a little flexible for them. Basically, we are doing this meet for new people, right?! These are people who can't/don't make our usual meetings.

I know the location doesn't matter. We went to Mike's in Sacramento.

If we meet this criteria:

1) Location - easy to find
2) Space for our cars. It's hard to find a empty lot where 20+ Celica could park together
3) A place to eat.
4) Shelter - Bad weather this time of year. We have to find something indoors.
5) It's not 'boring', spouses, friends who are not really involved in cars could do something else.

Then, I know people will understand the distance we have to travel.

Hope you people put some thought into this.

-Alan

I like Darkwind's idea. That way, if some of us wants to do something else, like the wife or gf, can go to borders or get coffee or whatever. Let's get this going.

Sunday 12-4pm, I'll be there.

I see lots of suggestions. Is this going to be decided by Sat night / Sunday morning?

I'll be there - Just have to point my car in the right direction.

Thanks for the consideration Alan. Unfortunately I will be attending a memorial service for an old friend on Sunday so would not be able to attend that day. Please do not let this influence you but a decision on where and when should be made quickly.
