What a great day in the auto-x world! The event was held in pahrump, nv at spring mountain motorsports park and we ran the auto-x on the lower roadcourse. I ran pretty good but was having a lot of tire slippage and could've used an LSD really badly at a few points. Anyway after the morning session we had lunch and I decided to see how the other drivers that I knew were doing. Well as it turns out conehugger from az (drives a gts) came down and I got to ride with him on his best run and all I could say was he was one of the best drivers I have every riden with. It helped show me a lot of the untapped power of the celica that I hadn't been using, it really showed me how great the brakes were on our cars. I also got to ride with a tail happy dodge stealth rt and a tail happy nissan 300z turbo which were both a blast and I got to ride with an S2k and a miata and got the roadster feel and both were great and last but no least I got to ride with marvin "amazin" mayes in his crazy BSP vette C4 the car was crazy, the acceleration threw me into the back of my seat and he is such a great driver. I'd have to say riding with conehugger and marvin are to experiances I will never forget. Can't wait to get back out there tomorrow!

Is the full track now SCCA legal? I ran the upper portion of the track in October at the High Perf. Car Clinic and knew they were still working on the pit wall to meet the road racing requirements for the full track.

i don't think the full track is approved yet, i know they still use is for the Brag Smith Driving School and a few perforomance driving schools here and there. I'm pretty sure it is because that is where our club races are held and I'm pretty sure that they use the full track.

edit: yup it's the full course, here is what I found on the LVR website under the club racing section

"Not only was the Double Down a success, but also secured the foundation for a long prosperous life of Club Racing for the Las Vegas region. With some last minute planning, some stellar work by Rupert Bragg-Smith and some dedicated SCCA volunteers finishing corner stations, the club was able to meet the safety requirements to implement the entire 2.2 mile road course at the Bragg-Smith Advanced Driving School in Pahrump, NV.
