For $500 a month for 60 months I could go out today and put $3000 down and drive home a new 350Z enthusiast.
Some questions you'd have to answer before we can give a good answer:
1. How many months?
2. How much down?
3. How much negative equity in your previous car?
4. How bad is your credit? I know a guy whose credit was so bad they approved his car loan, with 50% down, at 21%.

$500 a month x 3 years = $18,000 Is kinda OK
$500 a month x 4 years = $24,000 NOT OK
$500 a month x 5 years = $30,000 You got raped!
$500 a month x 6 years = $36,000 You got raped without lube!

HOLY ****, that is a LOT of money, you also have to figure in insurance costs, gas, maintenance, etc. You will be living in your car....that is, if you have other bills you need to pay. You shouldn't be a slave to your car, especially since you are 20. But, if you have a good job that pays 100 dollars an hour, then go for it... Celica isn't worth 500 a month (if you your term is 3+ years)

Lets not forget an auto adds almost another $1000 to price tag. Some of you are acting like an automatic should be cheaper than a manual.
Performance wise yes, price wise, uh NO.

Uh that would be like $6000 a year, I'm gonna call some BS or you are stupid.
Edit: I checked progressive.com early today at work cause I was bored, 21 years old, 1 accident (my fault), and I would pay $6,357 a year for insurance on a Corvette. $7,800 for a Dodge Viper.
You need to uh, go check yourself...

As another fellow Auto GT owner, I think you're getting raped without the vaseline. Either you have bad credit or something else didn't click right with the sales people about you.
BTW I pay $0/mo. for mine. :)
$18,500 out the door ($25K price tag). :)

Wow... I pay $318 a month for my 5spd GT. I have 4 yrs left, because I just refinanced to a much lower APR. I was at 10.9% and my refi put me at 7%...
I bought it when I was 21, I had zero credit, I put zero down, and had $2000.00 negative equity on my trade-in.... I got screwed. But Toyota got screwed when I refi'd through my credit union. They lost out on about $4000.00 I would've eventually put in there pocket. :D
BTW... my ins is $135 a month at 24 yrs old, married, no tickets, and no at-fault accidents... Right now, my ins. is $12 a month in storage :D

For Auto GT 2002 - I pay $470/mo with APR 6.25% for 3.3 years (5K down, though).
