White face guages Question

Some pictures I have seen of Indiglo guages at night show black boxes on the face where the icons should light up? Is this how they look at night or is it just an effect of the photograph? I am not buying any if the face is not white at night. Anyone help?

that's how they really look. it's necessary to allow those warning lights to show. it's kind of the price you pay for aftermarket indiglos (as opposed to cars designed for them from the factory).
