Ok I'm lost, where can I run my Celica in the 1/4 mile? I called Pomona Raceway and they told me to call Irwindale Speedway. Irwindale is an oval track. LACR is in the middle of nowhere(I'm in Irvine) and it would take me about 4 hours to get there(at least I think). Fontana Speedway/Califronia Speedway says it's 1/4 track is closed for the season. Do any other 1/4 tracks around here let me run my car etc.?

LACR is about it i believe. its not 4 hours away. I live in irvine and it took about 1.5 hours. Still not close. And that track is discouraging because your times will suck there.

well ok, I guess I will look into it. Thanks, but yea that 4 hours was a bit of an exaggeration. Why is the track bad though?

LACR is at a higher altitude so the elevation will effect your times especially if you are using a turbo. Irwindale has an 1/8 mile track there now so I heard but like Fontana its only open on certain dates. Do they still have a track out in Oceanside area?
what about carlsbad? don't they do 1/4 mile there?
that'd be about an hour or so, and it's at sea level, so
your times wouldn't suck.
I thought they did quarter mile there, but I'm not totally sure.

So how is the Pomona track?? And how far is it from Long Beach. Is it any better then i LACR? We went to LACR on friday. But didn't get to run. cuz we got lost. Then by the time we got there. It was already to late to run. Stupid palmdale didn't put any sign of where to turn and stuff. So we had to stop. and ask people how to get there. Almost took an hour of trying to find the place.
Also is there any link to Pomona Raceway? i want to get some info on the track.

carlsbad is the worst track i've been to. but you do get your best times there becuz it is basically at sea level. reason why its bad... like 1 mile of dirt road before getting to the pits. pro domestics... (like most all tracks in so cali.), cracks in the track... would i dont think is safe..

I believe that fontana is starting friday night racing. My friend ran a 13.650 there on sat all motor. I also saw an RSX blow his engine because he was squeezing NOS.

When I went to Longo last sat they had flyers on drags over at Irwindale speedway. They use the 1/8th mile there.

Actually the FI cars are less impacted since they are creating their own atmospheres. :)

Is the track at Pomona a oval or whatever shape track or a dragstrip??
