This may be a dumb question, but maybe some of you will join in w/ me......Where the heck(if any) are our tow hooks?

Looking at hypermotive's.... are they replacements, or just new parts to install?

Right at the corners of the car (4 corners) underneath it.

If you get under there and look there is no possible way you can miss them.

They are also heavy as crap. Are the Hypermotive ones lighter?

yea, don't take em off though. It's not worth it just for a couple pounds or even 20. If you get in an accident your pretty much screwed w/o them there. The good thing about them is that they dont bend/break really regardless so they shouldn't com oeff unless it's real bad.

There are actually 5, one big one right under the engine.

As for those "ricer" hooks...

If you get one with the hopes of using it to get pulled out of a gravel trap next time you go to that race track. Think again! Those of us that pull cars out of the gravel can rip one off in a second. Not fun to watch the cable/strap "zing" past with the hook still attached.

In the photo below I'm (in orange/black) telling the corner worker that that is not a good place to stand if the strap or hook breaks

You must be pretty stupid to stand there as a corner worker........

If the strap breaks he is dead meat............... :D

That same weekend (Runoff's) I yanked one off a GT1 Corvette. Car firmly planted in Mid-Ohio's corner 14 gravel trap, hooked the car to one of it's nose hooks (about a 45 degree angle), "slowly" feed the power in to the big block GMC 4x4, car moves a little then BANG ZING the strap whips under the truck and out the other side like it was shot out of a cannon. They then Black Flag the session (the track was only yellow in corner 14, not that anyone slows down and not that I care if they do). Once the session was stopped I could pull him out the way he drove in, much easier.

for the tow hooks in the rear, the ones right by the bumper, is it safe to use that as a location to jack the car up? my exhaust piping blocks the jack point (in the middle of the suspension). just wondering. i tried it a little once, but got scared that the hook would bend/break.
