View Full Version : Opinions on which Alpine HU to get

These are the three I'm looking at. The 7998 plays MP3's and it allows for XM expansion. The 1006 does allow XM expansion, but it does not have a built-in CD player. Finally, the C801 has a built in CD player, but no XM capability.

Which do you think would be the best. As a future plan I would like to add XM, PS2 and/or DVD player/Nav system.

I got a 1997. I didn't put it in yet though, waiting for time and better weather.

I have never been a fan of the NOB so I got the 1003 with the DVA 5205 and a 1214 changer. But if you want a deck taht will play XM, MP3, DVD get the 7996. That deck is tight.
