Blitz

And right now it does'nt seem too promising but its not too bad.
Its supposely coming out in middle of March with a gusstimate MSRP of $6000. The delay and was due to extra parts and R&D that was needed for the US kit. And get this, it's going to be pushing 4 PSI.... but if that 4 PSI means 30% hp to the wheels, its not too bad for reliable daily driving with 210hp to the wheels.
It seems like they're really concerned about R&D, quality and above all else, reliablity, than just making high hp. The sad thing is that it's $6k.

XS

Realistic estimate of debut: Summer
Boost PSI: 8-10PSI with bigger injectors and Power FC
I asked about the Matrix that blew its engine at 7psi and he laughs, and said "we didn't blow it up, the person who did put in bad gas" or something to that extend.

This is going to be a tough decision. The blitz so far seems to care about reliability above all else, and the XS is aiming for the max power safely. The XS seems safe only if every condition is optimal, but don't really have a big margin of error. The price for both kit is gonna be around $5-6k.

91 octane? that's all we have in california except for a few random 76 stations that have 96 and 100

man that sucks about the high prices and further delays, but hopefully they'll both come out one day and be good. i've about decided that a FI celica isn't for me after working on my friends with the POS turbo performance kit (and seeing continously high prices on everything), but i hope some of you can make some fast ones :).

Keep in mind, the manufacturer's estimated price is almost always higher (sometimes MUCH higher) than the price it will actually sell for in shops.

They're using their electromagnetic clutch to PURPOSELY lower boost from the supercharger's regular setting of 7 psi to somewhere around 4-5 psi in the higher rpm levels. That's why the peak HP on this kit is pretty modest. What's funny is that the peeps that whine about the Blitz SC not having enough peak horsepower don't realize that Blitz did this INTENTIONALLY, because the reliability of our high compression engines is a priority over massive power at all costs.

can we run the blitz at 92 octane safely?? how far can we push on race fuel??

I'm already saving for the blitz kit whenever it comes out. It's better that they get it right instead of rushing it out into the market. But first I need to replace my clutch and put in a LSD, to handled the added torque.

Sorry to say the XS kit won't have the power FC.

I don't think XS has made a final decision on that just yet.

oh lord 6K..

it would be cool if XS offered the Power FC, but i think the split second unit would lower the price substancially..

correct. The last word was that the XS kits slated for delivery here were not to include the FC, but we'll only know when they actually arrive. Hypersports is working to change their minds on that... hopefully their final decision will be to include the FC. It should also be noted that the protoype kit that is running on the FC, did not include the commander. The FC itself can be sent to XS for a mild street tune.

When u say FC u mean the controller right..it will definitely come with the ECU??? Is there any way to hook up a laptop in place of the FC..How the heck are we gonna remap the fuel settings..damn XS if they don't make it user friendly!!!

The last thing XS wants is people fiddling with the tuning of their setup, blowing their engines, then blaming XS for having a bad turbo kit.;)

That's the same exact problem D. Draper has been trying to avoid with the WCToyota turbo kit.

You NAILED it. That pretty much sums up the problem we're having here that is making XS rethink whether or not to release the FC as a part of the kit or as an option. (not that the car blew up, but it's still waiting to get tuned properly, once XS has time to send someone back down here).
