I need some recommendation for a good tire. I don't auto-x or anything9 wife drives car 90% of the time). Looking for a good riding, quiet tire that will last. Oh I need it in a 17". Thanks for any help!!!

If you want quiet and safe for the wife then look into something like the Goodyear Eagle GS-A. Should be a nice tire and last a long time. Not that high of performance, but still adequate.
the Kumho 712 is also a nice tire, great in the rain (forget it if you happen to get snow). The price on the Kumho's is very good too. I tought they were decent in the noise department when new, but as they have worn they have gotten louder.

The Eagle F1 GS-A3 is a great tire that's up there with the S-03 and way cheaper.
I have the T1-S and love it. Quiet, long lasting and grip with the best of them.
S-03 if you got the money.
However, my next set I'm going with the Yokohama ES100. At only $100 each 215/45/17, its $60 cheaper than both the S-03 and the T1-S. It last longer, handles great, and a very quiet tire. It has 95% of the grip of the best tires.

The ES100 beat the Kumho's in every category and around the same price. Look into it.

The ES100 is on national back order untill March, that's why I'm trying out the Sumitomo HTRZ-II right now (getting them mounted today). I've liked my Kumho's, but want to do a comparison vs. the Sumitomo.

Has anyone tried the Kumho 711s? The tread pattern isn't as aggressive as the 712s but the treadwear rating in higher while still having the AA traction rating. Thanks for the replies and keep them coming!!!!

Sumitomo is definately a better performing tire, it has softer compound so it does'nt last as long.
