I am trying to buy some tenzo poke 10s and am getting confused about what offset I should get. I called Butler Tire and they told me the bigger the number the farther out the wheel would be from the fender well. My tenzo guy says the opposite. I have a stock 39mm offset and my choices are +42 and +35. I want the one that will stick out rather than in. He says the +35 will stick out more but they are on backorder for a year!! :( He says the GTS has oversized calipers and a +42 may need spacers in which case may not be hubcentric and will vibrate above 90mph!!!! This will not do! But they don't know if it will need spacers or not. I called some places but nobody knows. Please give me info!

The smaller the offset the more it will stick out. He may be right about the caliper being to big for the rim to fit over. I would just find a different rim.
I've also heard of someone getting their caliper ground down to make room for their rim to fit over. It doesn't sound like a good idea to me though.

the tenzo guy is right, the bigger the number, the further IN it will be. So in your case you want the +35 offset.
i've had +45 offset w/ 18x7.5 and it fit w/o hitting the calipers. +42 should be fine.

I have 18 x8 with a 32mm offset. The wheels stick out. They only rub at the rear when I hit a hard bump because the car has been lowered by about 2.5inch at the rear, and 2.25 at the front. It only rubs on the plastic so it is can be taken out, just havnt had the chance. But the wheels really make the guards look wide.
Personally, I would go for the 35mm offset as the celicas guards a quite big, and need a big wheels to fit them properly.

The +35 in the poke 10s are on backorder for a year, according to Tenzo. :( I guess I have to get the +42
