ok, right now i'm building a case against toyota. what i need is this... if you have had your headlights replaced due to them being fogged up, leaks, dirt, any kind of debris getting inside of them (from normal everyday use) please post here and say how many times you have had them replaced and your name as well. this applies to any of the HALOGEN headlight users (the majority of us), i dont particuallry care if you have different bulbs or HID kit, just as long as you have the stock halogen housings. so yeah, name and how many times replaced is a huge help!! thanks!!!

Getting the engine power washed is a bad idea with the Celica. Water can easily get into the headlight casings from those powerful hoses they use.

I had my engine power washed once and water got into the driver side headlamp. Luckily it dried itself out after a while, and i've sworn off engine washes ever since. Now i just use a cloth and wipe it out myself.

and you have to be careful when changing out bulbs as well. If you don't catch back the seal around the bulb housings perfectly water can get in.

just my .02 cents on what COULD be causing these headlamp problems.

When you guys had your headlights replaced, was it covered under warrenty or did you pay. If so, how much?

Russell Wells
Never replaced, but been fogging within the first year.

yes they were/should be replaced under warranty. my beef is that i think there is a defect in them/the manufacturing process and i'm bringing this to my regional rep.

could it be that the bulbs with the wrong wattage are being used?

funny thing with my situation they started telling me that it was my fault for putting in aftermarket bulbs etc etc but in reality they were blue bulbs i bought from the THEIR parts dept and that THEY installed - i showed them the work order

Change the title of this thread to something that actually explains why you want help. I bet you get a ton more hits than trying to get people that lead busy lives to click your thread because you have an "urgent car problem"......

Everyone who has had headlamp condensation/discoloration problems click please.
