wow ... it finally snowed here in long island ... but damn .... driving in the snow with this celica is damn hard ... i spun the tires every time i tried moving ... I'll probably get myself some snow tires sooner or later

oh but one good thing was the drifting ... i was practicing around my neighborhood ... yank the e-brake ... start slidding ... and give it some gas ... that was the high light of my night ... just wanted to let you know if you really care at all .. :D

The stockers are fine in the snow, no use to waste money unless theres a tons of the stuff. Im here in Germany and im doing just fine. Only problem i have occasionly is when i have to go up a really steep hill, and i dont have enough momentum to make it. Anyway, yea like you said drifting is fun, i do it every chance i get.

soceur, you must be the best winter driver ever. I only drove my celica one winter(I store it now) and I couldn't stand the way it handled on the stock tires in the snow. It was by far the worst winter driving experience I ever had.

Well, I live on LI. I too drove my 5-spd GT in the snow for the first time. My experience was pretty good. Car didn't slip/slide at all. It handled very well. *shrugs*. Btw, I did this at like 12:45am too, so all the roads were icy as can be.

well, i have had fun in my past cars and in my celica last year...it snowed about 3 inches in Rochester, NY a few days ago so that as I was driving around last night there was about an inch or solid "packed down" snow on the side streets I was going down...I was having fun, pulling the E-brake, doing all the drifts well....and then i rounded a corner a little to fast and let the back end slide around a little to far so that i couldn't recover it...and slammed into a 6 inch high curb...my car hit the curb exactly on the rear driver's side tire/rim, broke the hug cap (snow tires) and dented the rim real good. Now when i drive straight my steering wheel is turned probably a good 45 degrees toward the drivers side door ( looks like I am always making a left hand turn, but really just going straight). I hit the curb so hard that I think no only did I knock my baby out of alignment, but also might have bent some suspension parts behind the rim (control arm, links, etc...i dono what the parts are called, but it could get expensive). I also don't understand why my steering wheel would be turned the way it is when i go straight, when i think i only hit my rear tire...there was no other visable damage, just some after shock and the result of me driving a hell of a lot slower and with less cockyness...if you have ideas of what I did or how much it will cost to fix, all ideas are appreciated, and PLEASE PEOPLE, be careful with your baby now that it is winter, drive carefully, and watch the curbs =)
