what all is different from the stock shifter? is the only difference the height?

pretty much... but the benefits are many. your shifting will feel more precise and accurate... it'll be much more comfortable (no more arm moving, just wrist action)... and it looks cool too!

the throw is also different. hence, short-throw shifter. find someone who has one on their celica and try it out.
