MIVEC for US (Pun intended)!

U hear it right! Mitsu introducing the 2.4L 160bhp MIVEC engine into its Ralliart Lancer Lineup! However, it's a pity that the 2.4 only pumps out that much. I know for a fact that the 1.6 MIVEC in Asia's previous gen Lancer/Colt is already capable of the same horsepower!

Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing and lift Electronic Control :chuckles: Every car company and their owners mother is going to have a this type of engine design soon...... Even Ford is looking into for their new F-150.

Mivec has been around for a while! Even before the VVTi.. it's been on the Japanese Mirage and other cars too. they have the 1.6, 1.8, 2.0 and the 2.4 mivec! I was going to drop a 1.8 Dohc mivec and turbo that in my 2001 mirage (many people in the asia are doing the same thing), until I traded it for my GTS.. The mivec actually have more aftermarket support then the 2ZZ-GE, since it's been out longer..

i know my friends FTO was a 2.0 lt V6 MVEC and was 190 hp...it felt stronger off the the line than a gt-s due to the torque, was 5 speed too...i think was the GPX , but overall a gt-s should be close to the power..

U guys should wait until you see mitsu's new GDI engines. They are very impressive, like 120 hp/liter.

heh kind of funny isnt it, especially when you realize all civic owners try and make there cars look like some other nicer car. Kind of makes you wonder wtf is going on in there damn focus groops

are they still gonna have the OZ rally edition? its about time the non-evolution lancers got some B@lls. 160 hp puts it into the fun zone of MSprotege, GTI, Se-R, Si. Toyota is missing from this group... yo toyota: bring over that 2zz corolla, bump hp on celica just a tad, and it'll be all good.
