earlier today i toyed with a bmw 740il (maybe 740i, i not sure what they are) and he kept tailing me as we went up a hill and then down to a stop sign. i go slowly and we are at about 40 when he guns it and tries to beat me. before he gunned it i had drops into 2nd and was goin at like 5k rpms when i hit the gas and beat the hell out of him. i dont know what happened or if he maybe stopped racing but i got about 4 car lenghts within 3 seconds even though we kept going until 100 mph.

And that's a nice luxo-barge kill <IMG SRC="http://www.newcelica.org/ubb/smilies/cwm27.gif" border=0>.

I don't know what you are talking about, the 740iL is fast. From the size of it you think its heave and slow, if you driven one, its handles very well and stable.

0-60 5.7secs
1/4 15.0 @ 96mph
Skidpad 0.86

Sound alot like your GT-S does'nt it?

First of all, comparing a GTS and a and a 740iL is like comparing apples and oranges. They are two completely different cars. Second of all, those numbers don't show everything. How much does a 740iL weigh. The reason I ask is because there are also things such as the ability of a car to change directions, given in slalom performance. Also, how about braking distance. Does the 740iL compare to that? The 740iL does not sound much like a GTS to me when you compare the performance, because there is more to performance than a skidpad and a 1/4 mile. I am not really tryin to flame, but just making a point. That said, i would much rather have a 740iL so I could trade it in on another sports car of my choice :)

and its from a magazine... (no flame please)

Celica 0-60 ~6.6
BMW 0-60 ~6.7

Celica 1/4 ~15.0
BMW 1/4 ~15.0

Skidpad, BMW is a lil better.

All the numbers is too close to call.

Yeah, that sounds better. :D It would be a good race though.. but a modded GTS has a good chance at it..
