Before anyone flames me this isn't a newbie question. I have a GT not a GT-s, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a good technical site that explains how everything in the vvtl-i engine works. Coming from a background in pushrod V8s I find this stuff really interesting. The main thing I was hoping to get an explanation of is how the actual changing of the cam lobes takes place. Is it a mechanical switch that is just triggered by the rpm, or is it electronicly controlled? The cam shaft itself doesn't move does it? I'm assuming there is a roller that switches lobes yet stays with the valve. The only thing I have seen explaining it just says it changes lobes and doesn't get as deep as I would like to. Thanks!

Thanks! Haven't had time to read it all yet but I'll let you know if there is anything else I don't understand.
