I was just wondering, since we have 36000 mile/6 year "bumper to bumper warrenty" what does that mean? Does that mean that if ANYTHING goes wrong, not being your fault of course, that they will fix it for free? Or does it simply mean they will fix it cus its under warrenty, but you still have to pay? So if something just happend to go "poof" and break or go wrong will they front it?

The manuals you received with your car give a pretty good break down on the warranty coverage.

like oldster said...the manual u shoulda recieved has detail on whats covered...if something breaks all of a sudden they will fix it...things like clutch pads or break pads aren't covered cause that depends on the driver's usage...

Warranties usually just provide a false sense of security.

However, I have had a relatively good experience with warranties from dealerships on cars and parts. However, I wouldn't go buy a high definition TV and then spend another $500 at my local Circuit City. You gotta be kidding me!

Yeah, most car warranty information is in the manual, but to make sense of it all, warranties usually protect the actual product from flaws in material or workmanship for a designated amount of time or use.

Stuff like clutches and tires, and brake pads and rotors (<B> Furies</B>, aren't. They are considered to be "wear and tear" items. They are designed to fail out. I think even flywheels might not be covered. And of course if you 'break' something, that's not covered either. Like if you run over a curb and take a couple of tension rods and suspension bars bend, and if you tell them that you demand to have this fixed under warranty, then they'll say some really bad things to you about your mommy.

Anyway. I hope that helps.

Check www.toyota.com. I remember a link there somewhere that tells a little bit on what the warranty covers. I suppose having a warranty is better than no warranty too. My $0.02.
