I ordered a pair of 6.5s off of ebay, but they sent me some 6x9s instead. So would the 6x9s fit in the rears, or should i return it and get the 6.5s?
The 6.5s were the Pioneer TS-D160R Rev series and the 6.9s are Pioneer TS-D690R.
How do these 2 speakers compare?
Thanks

The 6x9s wont fit even if i customize it somehow? I heard that you would somehow have to customize your installation of the 6.5s in the rear anyways.

The only "customization" in the rear is to use an adapter that should come with the speakers and if not, this is what you need:

IMO, return them and get the 6.5's...

Well, technically the 6x9's have more surface area than the 6.5's. I guess you can decide which you want. If you want them to fit, just get some wood (3/4" MDF) and make an adapter. It should work it you do it right. If you go with 6x9's or 6.5's, you will need to buy or make an adapter. If you need more info on the 6x9 adapter, PM me.

Alright, thanks guys. As long as i can somehow get the 6x9s in then i will keep em. Imma be lazy n have a shop do it for me so i dont have to go through the hassle of making/finding adapters n such. What are the pros of having 6.5s over the 6x9s anyways?

YES you can put 6 x 9 in the rear. I have done it. I was the first person to do it way back when i got my car. just had to use a 1/2" piece of wood for a spacer and bracket.

yeah it'd be no problem to use a piece of mdf and mount 6x9s back there. that how back there is huge. but i don't know why you'd want to your imaging would suck but most people don't really care about that kinda thing.

yeah i was going to say that the shape of a 6x9 doesn't make for very accurate and natural sound reproduction... 6x9's might be bigger, but they are not better than perfectly rounded 6.5's. I'm sure there are some out there who will swear by their 6x9's... but im telling you, 6.5 is better! IMO i think u should return them.
