Hope you all made it safely to work/school this morning and had a better commute than I did. 12 miles, usually takes 20-25 min. with traffic on I-270. Today there was an accident on every road between me and highway. Every overpass was iced up and all these idiots were having a hell of a time getting across. I took 1 hour to go 2.5 miles and I got fed up and pulled off into a shopping center. An hour later I started out again and it took 1 more hour to complete the journey.
I doesn't matter that all these new cars that have 4WD, ABS, traction control and whatever other drive-line computer gadgets, its the drivers that still suck. All the other cars around me were peeling out, fish-tailing, and skidding out of their lane. Never once did the Celica have any problems. (thanks to skills learned driving a RWD cars in Rochester NY winters)

I watched the Dulles Toll Road where I was at. Very messy. I feel for you guys driving right now.

It's icy as hell outside right now. I can't remember the last time I saw so many accidents. I saw a Taurus on the side of the road that plowed into a tree. Slow the hell down out there. Some areas just seem wet, but then you will hit an ice patch... and zoom off you go!

Man, that's weird. I drove my Lightning today and didn't have any problems at all. And I drive 50 miles to work. It started raining about 15 minutes into the hour drive, but even though my thermometer said 31 degrees, it was still wet rain, no ice or slush. I drove pretty carefully though. When I got to work, my wipers were frozen up and there was ice all over the front of my truck where the rain froze as I drove. Then I heard about all the accidents everywhere. I get to work pretty early so I guess I lucked out. I'm just glad it didn't snow. I've got no traction in snow. I get by in the rain by driving slowly though. Guess I'll be extra careful on the way home tonight.

I have a ton of hills to go up and down on the way to my office and when I turned the corner to go up one of them, I saw a car coming right for me sliding down! Thank god for 1st gear to get me down those hills. I also saw a FexEx truck go skating in front of the office. It turned out OK though, the fire hydrant stopped him!:D
BTW, it took me an hour to get to work where it usually only takes me 15 mins.
I hope everyone made it safe.

I remember those days *schniff*
I really enjoyed the Big Fat Mess of '03, because I had just gotten the WRX.
